  • Good deal. We just sold our "bonus" ipod thingy on ebay because we don't have any ipods in our house, thus bringing the cost of the video camera down even lower. Good Guys had dropped the price they had on their JVC HD cameras by about $100 last time we checked as well (couple of weeks ago) from the original price still being charged by places like Domayne.

Bonus ipod thingy also makes a good Chrissy gift

      • Yes they do Pidim. That was our original idea (to give as a gift) until we discovered the RRP of them. Ebay option was too good to pass up :-)

  • it's not a saving of $450 or have $450 extra included!

how much is a iPod dock worth? $20? $50? $100?
the additional 1 year Camcorder warranty might worth $50

the battery & carry bag certainly not worth $300-$350!!?
oh…and don't forget you have to add the $20 postage!

    • davidl2 - The sound dock is a JVC unit - NX-PN10. It has double ipod/iphone dock, with motion sensor use and retails for $299 (see their website. I'd love to know where you can get an ipod dock for $20? It's obviously not that cheap unknown brand stuff. I bought a Digital Camera last year from Harvey Norman and they were charging $75 for an additional 12 month warranty, and the bag/battery kit is the JVC VU-VM90K with a RRP $129.00…. anyway.. I'm in the process of deciding which model camcorder to give myself for Xmas (and all the goodies!)

    I’m sceptical of this deal.

How do the prices on the “official” JVC site compare with other retailers or price aggregations sites like Static Ice?

Also, remember that most Gold and Platinum credit cards will give you an additional year of extended manufacturer warranty for no extra cost. Some offer an extra 2 years.

Offers which generally have so many add-ons are designed to make it appear a good deal when often they are not.

    • It's quite simple really. You're either in the market for a camcorder (as I am) or you're not. I'm buying my camera tomorrow and have looked around for pricing of these extras, and they're all within similar price ranges give or take $30-50. If you don't trust this, then you also won't trust that Sony will give you a PS3 as a bonus when you buy a flat screen TV, or Samsung is giving a 22" LCD when you buy a larger screen etc… It's Xmas time YesPleaseThankYou and these guys obviously want your business. ENJOY HAVE FUN!

So, you're saying you voted negative, because you are suspicious about package deals.

You are also saying that, as far as you know, this package could be cheaper … ?

Note: leaving comments to warn others to look into things is one thing. Voting negative is used to flag that a deal is definitely not a bargain in your opinion. At that point, you are asked to give the reason why it is definitely not a bargain in your opinion.

You were bored today? I vote on how I feel.

You also look over the shoulder of people at general elections? This isn't Russia you know.

Negatives are to highlight a problem with a bargain to others in the community or the moderators.

You've stated that you are voting on a suspicion

If you have a suspicion but don't want to prove if it's founded or not, just post a comment and don't vote.
