I bought one of these just before christmas. It works really well, I use it regularly. Recommended. Would buy again!

(I suggest that if you buy, you use a throwaway email address. Avancer can be a bit spammy)

  • I bought one too and I love it, hope its much cheaper so I can buy for my friend as gift :)

How much chips do fit in the 3.5l model and how long does it take to cook them?

    • +2

I get 1/2 to a full bag frozen chips (750g to 1kg bags) in there, the 1/2 bag 9 mins to cook, upto 20 mins for the full bag. Always pre heat first too, takes 2-3 mins.

      • Thanks for that

      • What does the preheat do?

        • +3

          It pre heats.

        • @pakkapie:

oh.. come to think of it, it makes sense

        • @woekoa:

I just think it gets all the internals up to temperature before putting in the frozen chips, seems to give me a better cooking result overall and quicker cooking time in total (no preheat seems to take a fair bit longer imo).

          @pakkapie: Thanks.

I have a Phillips Airfryer. Im thinking would a 2-3 min preheat make much of a difference if chips were cooked for 15 mins. The chips turn out very crunchy.

          Hence the question.

  • does the 3.5L comes with recipe book as well?

  • Rep,3.5L is 2200W or 2000W as opposed to your description on website?

Bought from these guys last year. Would absolutely buy from them again.

And you can cook chips in about 5-7 minutes once the unit's heated :)

How's the quality and features in comparison with Philips airfryer?or Tefal Actifry?

    • I'm interested to know how this compares with the Philips as well

  • Does anyone know if these can do kale chips?

    • This isn't a fryer - it's a small fan-forced oven. The reason why store-bought chips are good in it is because those chips are pre-fried at the factory (prior to packaging).

Thank you. I wouldn't say kale chips are fried though, I'd say they're more baked. I've done kale chips in a toaster oven without oil before, but it takes forever and doesn't yield much to make the effort worthwhile.

After all the good review from past deals, I bought the 3.5L variant approx 1 month ago and unfortunately it was faulty (DOA).
However Customer Service was excellent - I decided to get a refund instead of exchange and got the refund without any issue (Free returns too).

  • I have been thinking about getting one of these for a while. I love fried food, but want to cut down on fat.

Seems like this would be perfect, but couldn't I just put the chips in my fan-forced oven?

What's the advantage of one of these? Quicker? Crispier? Other?

    Cheers
