  I have one of these sitting somewhere in the storage box. I dropped my ipad once with a smart cover on and found one corner of it dented. Only if the dent is slightly deeper, the screen would have shattered. I don't often drop it, but these things happened. And i have changed back to a case with back cover, which has good corner support. I would steer away from these Apple smart cover.

    It's true you have to be careful as it offers close to zero protection on the corners. I had mine for well over a year before my work colleague dropped it… Otherwise I still use mine every day. Works for me, around 1.5 years now.
