Can I attach the gps tracker to my kid?

    • +4

If your kid normally roams the streets then I shouldn't see a problem.

    • +3

      There's an app for that..

    • +2

You mean you don't have yours gps chipped yet?

      • Yeah, but the RF from its transmitter has been causing burns & local spot-cancers. it's more costly than 24x7 sitters!

    • +1

Just use an old, small smartphone, on a lanyard.

      • App FindMyPhone is your friend, if not your kid's…

  • loan? so we dont keep it

    • +1

No, but you get to keep the results for free.

  • +5

Read 'Free loan cat' and was disappointed this wasn't the case…

    • +5

Me too! I was like next time I send my cat in for service with them I can get a loan cat lol

  • My cat's personality?

    • +6

Cats only have one personality: Jerk.

      • +8

        Your obviously a cow person…

  • Whats to stop people from just keeping the device?

    • +3

      Probably laws against theft

    • +6

      because they can track you.

    • It's taken from them when they have a cat-nap.
Really a GPS ! Can they find it? Or can you re - ID it?

I believe it is illegal for a cat to roam off your property. Is in Victoria.

    • +1

Only if the animal is a nuisance, eg. Killing birds, defecating, digging… https://www.melbourne.vic.gov.au/ForResidents/Pets/Pages/Res…

      • +1

        Ah yes, good sleuthing:
From the linked Melbourne council webpage:
If you neighbour asks you to stop your cat or dog from coming onto their property, you must do so. If your animal strays onto their land without permission more than once, it can be seized and you may be fined or prosecuted.

In Geelong we have a cat curfew as well, from sunset to sunrise.

        • I wish that was the case here. Neighbours let their cats out all hours and they're always fighting, pssing and shtting all over our place.

        • @Roscoe99: Geelong council has published a brochure about it. My wife put one in the neighbours letterbox as a hint.

        • There must be a reason… Any cats in heat there?

        • +1

          @IVI:

          There must be a reason

Mix of plenty of properties in close proximity, too many cats and irresponsible owners. Sure some of them might be horny but that by itself isn't the issue.

        • -1

@bmerigan: the cat in the letterbox?

          guess they don't come back.

        • @Roscoe99: a vote for the unicorn cat comment. And what is another name for cat that starts with " P '

    • i wish it was here in Adelaide. The local cats that roam the neighbourhood at night treat my side path as a hook up location.

      • I think the idea of the tracking data is to better understand the cats behavior and the effect which the cats have.

    • +2

LOL at the cat lovers who down-voted this.

For the record I have a cat. It does not roam - ever, and spends 99% of it's time indoors.

    • As long as it's the cat who is cited for the offense, I'll be right.

My phone loaded this pages down pages a bit and first part I read was "please note trial is limited to 500 cats" I naturally thought they were loaning out cats. Like you rent a fridge but free. Very disappointed, was really wanting a free rental cat

In Japan, you can rent grandchildren (actors), eg, to visit for dinner. Odd culture there. So odd [from pop. density?], that few modern adukts have kids.

      • And some interesting TV shows?

  • or have access to a cat.

please. one does not merely get "access" to a cat ;)

    All cats have divine personalities!

If we own a dog, feed it, house it, care for it, the dog will look at us and think you must be a God.

If we look after a cat, feed it, groom it, the cat will look at us and say I must be a God!
