You are correct, but they are good enough for Ikea/every now and then DIY jobs..
i dont think using proprietry bits is such a big deal as it uses a revolver cylinder layout that is only good for the six internal bits anyway
the design itself precludes non worx bits
also for me it doesnt look like a good design as it doesnt allow you to use long extensions and the like easily
I don't understand why these are even popular? Can't you use a drill with screwdriver bits?
a drill driver yes. a drill doesnt work at low speed, and generally doesnt have enough torque.
These are also smaller and lighter than a hand held drill
If you were doing a lot of screwing, you'd upgrade to an impact driver

I have a full on 18v professional B&D impact/hammer drill for big jobs like masonry and the like
i never use this for screwdriving as its just too big, heavy for that
for most jobs, i use the B&D for the drilling and then any of my cordless drills for the final screws, changing tools is easier than fiddly bits
also if i dont need to bring a $300 drill to work sites i dont, i dont care too much about my Ozitos $20-$30 cordless screwdrivers (leave them on the passenger seat, work, etc.)
a full $300+ pro kit? nah

Got one in Toowoomba. Showed them this post and they price matched even though the system showed no discount whatsoever. Bought for my other half for working on his computer repairs. He digs the design.
Doesn't always work. Asked masters in oakleigh south and they didn't allow price matching with other masters
it looks light the bits might be proprietary, hence why it's not selling.
