  • It seems like they're throwing PS3's in with everything these days - definately a good bargain for people here!

    • I certainly agree! I'm really interested in the 40" Sony - Though i might try and get the 46" !
I wonder what the wholesale price for those slim ps3's are???

  • I think best you can pick up is probably in early $400. I saw Catchoftheday for $419 or similar.

    • Woops, didn't write it properly, i meant i wonder how much sony is actually selling them to Harvey Norman etc.

Not a great deal — there have been $200 24" Full HD monitors and a PS3 slim was at CoTD for $429.

Admittedly the 22" LCD is actually a TV :P

WaywardOne…mate, the problem with those deals is you can't get them anymore. The only way to look at the offer objectively is to ask "if I wanted both items now, what is the cheapest I could get them for?"

that's what I did when I got the offer and thought it was pretty good.

      • Yeh bundles normally work out cheaper if you compare it to buying each item individually.
Excluding Kogan's expensive delivery fees, the bundle is not great value based on historical prices.

$400 for the PS3 slim: well priced
$200 for the 22" TV LCD: also well priced. To watch TV on a LCD you need to spend about $100 further for a turner and speakers.

How come this is not a great deal? At least, it's a good deal.

      • Can I take only the PS3 with me while going overseas and receive the GST refund (or part of it) at the airport ? Do I need to take the TV as well to get the refund?

        • Dont think so.. the invoice would've listed the full price for the TV and PS3 will be a free item. So the GST refund only to the TV.

          • @John: Maybe you can ask them do the opposite. It would be the same for them.

  • This using an LG panel? Does anyone know?

It's not such a great deal after you take into account delivery, which for me, will cost an additional $90.

I don't know where you live but as long as it's somewhere in Australia that is a ridiculous markup.

      Very disappointing.

    • How did you work out postage? It says it works out the postage in checkout, but you can't add this item to your cart cause the offer isn't valid till monday….?

It's $36.55 for the TV alone, to Brisbane and most Capital Cities (incl Perth). $63 to Tasmania.

  • +1

Courier delivery to most metro areas for both the 22" TV and PS3 will be $47.43

    • Hey, is there an Lg or Samsung panel in this model?
      Thanks

  • Did anybody successfully purchase one of these deals? At 11:01am the website allowed me to click 'Buy'and let me fill in all my address and credit card details but then I clicked 'Continue' and it went straight back to an empty shopping cart. I tried again using PayPal and it took me all through PayPal Checkout, then when I clicked Continue it just went back to an empty shopping cart again. Now it says 'Sold Out!'

  • Yes.. purchased two units sucessfully - delivery by the end of the week
