Is There an Even Better Deal for Mobile?

Hi all,

I'm luckily enough to still be on the Woolworths/Optus $26 Prepaid Cap with 5GB data and $250 worth of calls and $250 of optus my money, with a 45day expiry or something along those lines.

But Im really addicted to the large mobile data (5GB you cant go wrong) I just wanted to know if anyone knows of any similar deals but using the Telstra 3G or even 4G network, as lot of the time I'm unable to get Optus reception at work or when I in certain areas of town.

A larger data limit is more necessary then calls or text limits, I really only make like 20 calls and probably 50 texts a month so data is the key to me changing deals.

If you know any better prepaid offers please comment below or do you think I should keep what I've got

Thanks everyone

  • Wow, 5GB!!!

    • It used to be 10GB. Now its just 5GB :(

      • Can't recall that. This post says you couldn't buy sims anymore around the end of 2013.

The $29.00 recharge was 5gb for years before that.

        • I always had 10GB with the $29 recharge.

Edit: Ah! It appears that it was a bug.My data was being rollover after every recharge. Found this on whirlpool

Hmm I wonder if they will fix the data rollover 'bug/undocumented feature' with this transition.

  • If you want 5GB, no there isn't a better deal.

  • I'm on the same deal, I haven't found anything better.
The current vodaphone offer is good with unlimited data at the weekends, but this runs out in a few weeks. It's not good enough for me to give up my Woolis Sim

  • If any of you guys are changing from your woolworths mobile ill gladly take it :D

  • No better deal is available

  • Well this is 100% reassuring not to change from Woolworths Mobile

Although I wonder when it will run out? If its even possible?
Does Optus have to honour this forever?

    • +1

No, they can change it anytime they want.

  • Stay away from Spintel, the worst mobile phone company I have ever seen !

  • No superior 'in market' (continuing) deal may be available, but unlimited weekend mentioned. As I understand it Vodafone extended it now to May 10th, while any permanence may be based on its popularity henceforth. I shall port my My Long Life T plan there soon.

I stopped recharging my Woolworths 26.1/$500/5gig service late 2014, so perhaps that can still be revived, then again it was left at only 3g wcdma.

What moved me off 3g even before unlimited lte this February, were the Vodafone $15 starter pack sims. Back when data packs $450 transferred into 10.8gb total so I went with that, flexible credit.

I retained a few sims on that finished offer so am able to daisy chain as I please. Today I recharge cap 40 = $750 using same sim which is 18gb converted and get 27gb from each weekend.

I plan to rollover data in dashboard to see if I can build up 30gigs while streaming at weekends, a safety measure in case Vodafone cancel this highly differentiated and bonus feature weekend.

    • How do you convert cap credit to GB's?

      • I retained a few sims on that finished offer so am able

No superior 'in market' (continuing) deal may be available

        soz.
        .

  • I get 5gb along with unlimited calls/sms on Lyca $19 Prepaid. They are on telstra network.

    • This deal is over. It's $29.90 now and only 2GB.
