MEElectronics M9 Classic In-Ear Headphones: USD $8.99 + $6 Postage

ClassicM9

Hi All,

Mike here from MEElectronics. After receiving a couple of inquiries about inexpensive but good-quality earphones, I've put together a small promo for our M9 Classic in-ears. Sorry, these are not wireless, don't have active noise-canceling, and won't fetch you a coffee. Just simple, honest, performance-oriented in-ears at the lowest price we could manage.

M9 Classic In-Ear Headphones (normally $9.99 + $8.95 postage)

The M9 Classic is the new entry-level model in our sound-focused Signature series and slots in just below the dual-driver M-Duo. It is a refresh of the original M9 that basically launched us as a headphone company a few years back and emphasizes clarity, deep but controlled bass, and a compact, comfortable, durable design with good passive noise isolation. We wanted the M9 Classic to be superior to previous iterations but at a lower price for a very high sound quality per dollar ratio. Please note that the packaging of these earphones is very simplistic.

Coupon Code: ClassicM9
All prices in USD. Promotion ends on April 14th.
Limit: 3 per order.

The shipping charge to Australia is a flat $6 ($8.95, but the coupon code takes another $2.95 off). Delivery times are typically between 10 and 20 business days for standard shipping. Faster shipping methods are also available.

As always, I will gladly answer any questions as best I can in the comments below. I can also be contacted by private message or by email at mike(at)s2einc(dot)com .

All questions and comments are welcome!

P.S. Sorry it's not the wireless headphone deal many people have been waiting for. Unfortunately we don't have the inventory to run a promotion on the popular wireless sets right now - the sports ones, for instance, are completely sold out. Hopefully soon.

  • whats the retail packaging look like?

  • Better than Xiaomi Pistons?

  • Are these good quality headphones? Will the sound be half decent?

    • +3

Yes they are. The sound is much better than just "half decent".

I've bought the M9s in the past. For less than $A20 delivered, I doubt you will find better.

Have a quick look at the review posted above.

  • Hi Mike,
Sorry for being off=topic but I was after a pair of bluetooth earphones with volume/mic for my iphone 6. What can you suggest from your range and are there any discounts available or coming up soon?

    Cheers!

    • We have four wireless earphones right now that would work - depends on the exact feature set you're after and your budget. You can see all of them here: http://www.meelec.com/Wireless_s/430.htm

The price spread between them is pretty small so I would either go with the entry-level AF16 (http://www.meelec.com/Journey_s/452.htm) if you're on a budget or with the flagship Sport-Fi X7 if you're not (http://www.meelec.com/Sport_Fi_X7_Wireless_Sports_In_Ear_Hea…). The AF16 is a non in-ear earbud with a very basic and straightforward feature set, but it does have everything you want. The X7 is an in-ear earphone. It has quite few more Bluetooth features that you may or may not use, as well as better sound quality and sweat resistance.

The X7 is brand new and currently out of stock but I will try to run a discount on it once it's re-stocked. The AF16 is an older model that tends to be passed over for newer, pricier ones but if you wanted a discount on that one just shoot me a private message or email and I'll issue a one-off code.

  • I've owned a few of these in the past, they don't seem to last long (probably 3-6 months). Sound quality is pretty decent though

    • Sounds like you've had the older versions but either way if they malfunction that quickly you could always get in touch with us and get them replaced. Anything purchased from our site or from another retail/distributor in new condition is covered by a 1-yr warranty.

    Hey rep,

Any chance of a deal on budget-mid-priced pair of ear buds, with play/pause/etc remote?

    • Don't have anything concrete planned except some wireless sets once we have them in stock, but if you send me an email or private message with the budget you had in mind I'll see if I can price match some past deal on a model that fits your needs.

      • I'm still using the M9P from this deal way back.

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/144450

Even after shipping was added, that was a good deal.

Seems like the mystery deals you guys ran in the past were popular (great value with a bit of added surprise). Considering doing something like that again?

        • +2

We typically do those twice a year, on special occasions. Most likely 4th of July weekend :)

  • Hi Mike, I own M6P and bit dissapointed with sound quality (lack of bass & narrow sound for my liking), how is this M9 Classic compare? if heaps better (open for more suggestion with price point $20ish), do you have any return goods deal? thx

    • They have similar levels of bass enhancement, maybe even higher on the M6P. It sounds like you're not getting a great seal with your M6P - otherwise the bass should be strong, for some even excessive.

We updated the user manual for the M6P model recently (probably after you received yours), and I would suggest checking it out as it has a better, more visual explanation of the fit than I can provide: http://www.s2einc.com/meelec/UserManuals/UserManual_Sport-Fi…. You'll notice the bass increase once the earpieces have a tight seal in your ears.

No two ears are alike and there have been some instances where they just don't fit properly, but that's pretty rare. Still, if you just can't get good sound out of them, I'm sure we can exchange them for another model that might work better.

thanks Mike will give it a try and contact you if exchange is necessary. Btw, you are a great Rep.

    • Thank you :)

  • Just grabbed a pair.

  • Off topic but loved your April Fools email even though it came through a day late for us. My 7 year old absolutely loved the idea and was pleading with me to buy some!

    • That's awesome! We received some hilarious responses to that one (plus one person who was rather cross about us wasting our time tricking people)

  • Good deal for $19.55, hoping for the Wireless deal soon though
