GTA V PC - $38.99 AUD (Non Steam) @ Nuuvem

910

All credit goes to a few different comments over a couple of different posts.

Only steam and EB games (thanks to poster below) offers steam version, however it will launch and require login to rockstar anyway, so I was happy to skip having it in my steam library to save paying ~$75 USD for a game ive already played heaps on PS4.

Use hola to bypass the aussie tax. credit to endee for this suggestion.

Any questions leave a comment and Ill explain further, worked perfect for me and im pre downloading it now.

        • @dy4me:

Nah, I got my code 5 hours later for other games from Nuuvem.

But the image is just proof that they do have licence keys for GTA5.

        • @camzorocks have you got yours yet? It's been 9 hours since I've ordered mine and still nothing.

        • @zkniiL: yeah it took a while but i got it eventually.

    • You were right. Got my key and it's preloading now.

      Cheers

It's annoying that every company insists on having their own digital store. Most of us just want a single centralized repository for all of our games. Some games on Steam (especially EA and Ubisoft) require login to their own online stores to use, and now Rockstar had joined them. I hate multiple layers of DRM and multiple logins just to play a single game. Pirates don't have to deal with these inconveniences - the versions they use have all the DRM stripped out. They just click on the exe and play. Big companies seem to want to alienate customers and drive them to piracy. Just like 'A Game of Thrones' is locked up by Foxtel and inaccessable to anyone unwilling to folk out a lot of money for their mostly rubbish, ad laden service.

  • +1

I keep getting a 404 error at checkout- even using the 'hola' extension.

When I try to sign up (using login) it goes to a 404.

    Any ideas?

    • +1

Got it working- turned off 'Hola' extension to register a new account. Loged myself in. Then turned Hola back on.

    • Make sure you turn Hola off, not just click it back to the Aussie flag. Worked for me then.

  • +3

Thanks OP. I had to use argentinian VPN on Hola to get through it (Brazil wouldn't let me login). But got the code instantly and activated fine on Rockstar Social Club.

    • +1

Great tip, I kept getting 404 with Brazil but Argentina worked great, existing account.

  • Just followed ptenkae's instructions and got it no problems. Thanks!

  • Thanks! Code appeared on my account instantly

  • I'm still waiting for my code, I ordered about 5 hours ago. Getting impatient >.<

    • You shouldn't, you still have another 4 days to wait after you get the code anyway :(

      • +2

i wanna preload since my internet speed is 1 potato kb per minute

  • I GOT IT GUYS! :D it just took a little while.

  • 30kb/s ….. RIP chances of playing on release date

    • 30kb/s?! That is appalling, are you downloading from Rockstar servers?

      • Its pretty good now 1.5mb/s I was probably downloading when there was high traffic

  • Does anyone know where the cheapest place to get a physical copy would be? If i tried downloading this it'd probably take me a month.

  • Purchased but no code just the pre purchase date in the box. (Pré-venda, liberação em 14/04/2015)

  • Purchased it few minutes ago, don't see any code. I will update soon.

    • Got the Code and downloading the game
      Thanks OP

  • I purchased FM15 from this site using a VPN and was only able to play it during the beta but not official release (region locked). Had to get a key from GMG afterwards. Will this happen with GTAV?

  • I too purchased it a few hours ago : ) Thank you ozbargainbros and fingers crossed, hope I get code soon! See you all online in daring heists

  • +1

For those waiting for codes, the description has this written in bright bright red:

Due to high demand, GTA V keys exhausted, but do not be discouraged! A new batch of keys was asked to Rockstar. During this period, you can purchase off and so the keys are available, the delivery of the key will be normalized. We expect this to occur in access time preload.

    • Arrr.. this text is displayed on GTAV main game page, not in your account.

Thanx for posting this, I was getting worried. Only concern is them not being able to secure more keys due to the crap they are getting off Rockstar.

Hope it doesn't take too to get keys, pre-loading is gonna be challenging on my congested exchange ADSL connection.

  • It should be fine, don't worry, they will have keys soon.

There's still 4 days to go until the game is unlocked, so we still have plenty of time to preload before launch.

I just bought it now, waiting on a key to appear.

  • +1

Question: If my friend has finished preloading the game, is it possible for me to "copy" his preloaded files onto an external drive to be transferred to my pc? I've been given a code and it has been activated, I just want to save the 60gb download.

    • You can transfer

    • I am doing that too, just copied it, launched and started a 1.79GB update which is (I'm told) the after 60gb download part.

  • -1

Just brought game havent received code yet hope its not fake also hope I get it before release gotta download on slow net

  • +1

Just got my code, ordered late last night.

  • Awesome ordered mine this afternoon lets hope I get it by tonight or tomorrow

  • +1

Same, Ordered last night, just got code.

  • Didn't like the red writing on the Nuuvem gta purchase page so translated it.

Due to high demand, GTA V keys exhausted, but do not be discouraged! A new batch of keys was asked to Rockstar. During this period, you can purchase off and so the keys are available, the delivery of the key will be normalized. We expect this to occur in access time preload.

I don't know if it happened for you guys and you still got keys, but just giving the heads up.

    • +1

Look up. The translation was already posted yesterday afternoon and the people that bought it last night got their key this evening.

      • yep, you're right. Ordered and got my key straight away

  • Apparently you can get 30% off at Greenman Gaming
    http://www.greenmangaming.com/s/au/en/pc/games/action/grand-…
    Brings it down to $52.49

    code: GMGAUS-30J9MF-MUINWW

    • USD though?

      • I don't know, if it is USD then definitely not worth it.

        • +1

All GMG prices are in USD. Approx $68 AU.

        • @CyberGenesys:

Which I wouldn't mind but they don't let you use GMG credit with the voucher.

  • +2

I purchased it last night. Just checked Nuuvem then and the code is there. Activated and downloading as we speak. Yay!

  • -2

I still dont know if i should go through with it. Knowing rockstar i feel they will region lock it.

    • Oh well, at least 74 people are going to find out for sure next week :D

      • haha, true

        • Knowing Rockstar? Why?

        • Dunno

    • +1

Rockstar have only themselves to blame. For years now they've trained us to circumvent established high-priced distribution channels of addictive, socially-unacceptable product, usually with antics such as flying an ATV out of a cargo plane onto a tanker ship followed by a massive shootout to wrest control before the authorities arrive.

They can't be mad that we did our own deal with the South Americans - they should be proud.

  • -2

Brought my key yesterday asked about getting it on twitter then they send me support and say keys are mostly gone then I say are they out now and 30mins later I get message saying should be in the account and it was!!!! Yes

    • +8

How about you stop pressing the button 'I am associated with Nuuven' every single time you post?

  • Ordered 11PM yesterday (10th) and got a key instantly! Thanks OP

  • 1.6GB left to download. Cant wait until Tuesday, hope all goes well.

  • +1

And now it has gone back to 47Gb ????????? Not bothering with this anymore. Might try again on Tuesday.

    • I have this same issue.

Raised a ticket with Rockstar and they have asked where I purchased the game.

There may be issues with these Nuuvem copies.

      • Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

      • +2

Why jump to that conclusion? Of course they are going to ask you where you purchased the game from regardless of where you bought it from.

I know a few people who have completed the pre-load after purchasing it from Nuuvem, and the Rockstar servers are probably one of the most hammered servers in the world right now considering the games popularity. So there's bound to be some problems server side with the demand.

I just made a royal FU. I paused the game download around 40GB done as I had to restart my PC. Of course when I load it up again the download starts around the 2GB mark.

I'm fuming, I'll let it run while I sleep and hope that I don't have to do anything that requires too much bandwidth tomorrow morning - as it has been maxing out my connection (~1.4MB/s) and has made streaming Netflix next to impossible today.

        • +2

          Exactly… stupid assumption.

I purchased and pre-loaded successfully from Nuuvem without issue, as have many others.

        • +1

I paused the game download around 40GB done as I had to restart my PC. Of course when I load it up again the download starts around the 2GB mark.

I had the same - 16 GB downloaded, rebooted and was back to just under 2 GB.

I searched to find out if it was a common issue, and found this on Reddit:

I think I managed to fix the error that the game never actually finishes downloading and every time you restart your internet/pc or it crashes or whatever, you lose a large % or some % of the download.

Their conclusion is that there seems to be a bug where the same file can be downloaded multiple times - ie, your 20 GB may have been the same 2 GB file downloaded ten times. Then when you restart downloading, an integrity check discards the duplicates.

In my case, I had glanced at the downloaded files before rebooting and I think they were nearly all identical file sizes. I'm about to restart the downloader and monitor it.

It's almost worth rebuying on Steam just for the painless download process ;)

        • +1

After watching it for a while, mine was redownloading x64s.rpf multiple times. I tried exiting, deleting the .part, and restarting, but no effect.

In the end I copied the completed .rpf's I had to another directory, uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled, and then copied the .rpf's back and resumed downloading. That seems to have done the trick to start downloading 'r'.

        • +1

          @Thrift:

Woke up this morning, 30GB done - ~8GB was the same 1.8GB file. Did the same technique you mentioned but left the launcher open (paused) whilst copying the non duplicated files into another directory. Then I deleted all the duplicate files, hash files and part files in the main directory with the launcher still open and paused. I restarted the launcher and it's starting now from 23GB (didn't need to use the files I copied into another directory, but it's good to have a set of completed files incase the launcher bugs out and deletes things).

I'm lucky I have unlimited internet, but still this really isn't cool, Rockstar. I don't want to have to monitor a 60GB download constantly and I want to be able to do other stuff but the launcher just maxes out the connection and won't even let me stream a youtube video properly.

        • +1

@c0balt: I got 'r' downloaded, but it looked like it was downloading 'r' again, so I gave up and I'm part way through an alternative method that doesn't require as much babysitting:

          http://www.reddit.com/r/GTAV/comments/328e2u/gta_v_rockstar_…

If that doesn't work I'm just going to download it tomorrow at the office.

Lucky those that had no hassles, but it sure is frustrating for us that are experiencing a less than ideal preload process.

        • @Thrift:

          Thanks for the alternate suggestion.

I'm up to 32GB now and everything looks OK going by filesizes. Fingers crossed I don't have to do a 3rd download of a 60GB preload.

        • i had finished the download and click the retry button upon finish. it made me download 30 gigs again. it happened again the next day but i left it idling, found the server had been down for the last 3 days hence it had cause the download to restart again.

        • @ctran: hopefully the inevitable patches won't involve 10-20 gig downloads… but I won't hold my breath.

      • I found a fix via Whirlpool, via Reddit.

Delete duplicate X64 files and try again. Currently the only message I have on my screen is a countdown to release day (YAY!)

  • pre load stopped at 40 gig out of 60 gig. Restarting gta setup tool either wants to repair or uninstall. Game is not installed in directory or available to edit in control panel / programs.

  • Is there any way to download it through P2P and then activate with the code?

    Getting sick with 220 kb/s download…

    • That's my normal everyday download speed :/ #tpglol

  • I bought the game and received the code. However, after I installed the social club software and the software asked me for the activation code, I entered the code gave by Nuuvem and it comes out code has been used. Does anyone have the same issue? What should I do?

    • Log out of the social club software and reboot the pc. Go back into the Social Club software then see if the game is ticked as an 'Owned/Purchased Title' in your rockstar account.

    • I seem to be having this same issue. When I got the key from Nuuvem I went to the Rockstar site and activated it there. The preloading finished this morning and it is asking me for the key, entered it and got the "Rockstar Activation Code already in use".

When I check the Rockstar Social Club site it only lists GTA V with PS3.

      Will play around.

  • Purchased and now downloading. This is going to take a while…

    • I wouldnt bother with it for now. Have not read a single post where someone has successfully downloaded the game. Most seem to get the reset bug while others are getting slow downloads and disconnects.

      • +3

I have pre-loaded successfully without issue using the nuveem purchased key. Was downloading @ approx 50Mbps when i did it.

        • When the pre-load completed, did it ask you to enter your key again?

        • +3

          @slantox:

No… when i go into it now it just has a countdown.

      • +2

        I had no issue.

      • +1

I had no issue, but I copied the downloaded files from a friend (he had no issue either). It detected the ~60gb of files but still downloaded an extra 1.8gb update, probably some account specific or data located outside the install directory. Now sitting at a release countdown timer. Was not asked to put in the key after redeeming it on the Rockstar social club, I would not expect to either as it is assigned to my account and that is what I am signed in as.

      • +2

I also had no issue. Mine finished preloading a couple of days ago and has the countdown since then. Files in the folder are all unique and total 60gb. Maybe the download servers are getting hammered closer to release and spitting the dummy?

    Hi Guys,
I am interested in obtaining this game.
And have finally jumped on this post tonight.

Have just purchased it following the steps posted by "ptenkae - on 09/04/2015 - 13:08"

    Complete step by step guide:
    1. Go to nuuvem.com and make an account
    2. Download hola plug in and enable browsing from brazil
    3. Already logged in, add GTA to cart
    4. Checkout with paypal
    5. A rockstar code will appear in your account under my games in nuuvem
    6. Go to socialclub.rockstar.com and login
    7. click the settings/gear icon and click game downloads
    8. Enter rockstar code.
    9. Click Download for Windows
    10. GTAV_Setup_Tool.exe (175mb) will begin downloading
    11. I'm at step 10, should be straight forward from there.

So I have just purchased GTAV on Nuuvem at 7:45pm 12/04 and waiting for the activation code to come through.
From posts, it may take 5+hours to come through (currently up to step 7 and waiting for activation code).
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/97gpqwf1vpq7m1y/Screenshot%202015-…

Let you guys know how long it takes to come through.

    • +1

Took about ~11-18 hours for me. Ordered on Friday afternoon and had the code when I checked my Nuuvem account on Saturday morning, but it wasn't there before checking before bed on Friday night.

My preload just finished. Got the countdown message.

      Bring on Tuesday!

  • +1

Anybody else not going to work tomorrow?

    • -1

Wait- so you can download the game already? I thought it would only be available to download after release. Time to get buying

  • I bought this, but only going to play in June when I can dedicate a full couple of weeks to it. How sad am I?
Been waiting a couple of years for this already, couple more months not going to make a difference.
