    • Don't know why I'm getting excited… I live in Melb!

      • +2

Cheap flights to Sydney all the time mate, come up for a buffet and a weekend! ;)

        • Not a bad idea at all…

  • Thank you for posting.. wow, now I know where to go for my husband's birthday. :-) sooo excited…

  • Great deals there!! + from me!!

  • ohh … too bad Cafe Mix is not in there …overall it is a good deal..

  • Bummer that they left out Taronga Zoo this time round. But still good deals there.

    • +1

Just in case you're not aware, you can get a buy 1 free 1 deal for Taronga Zoo with any purchase of a participating Kellogg's product. Already posted, so you can do a search if you're interested.

  • sheesh..Sydney sure is getting desperate with these BOGOF deals. It must suck coming 2nd to Melbourne in everything hehehe…

  • doh :P

I'll be visiting in April …

  • So many good deals today…

  • how does the buy on get one free work. If you have 6 people, do you get 3 free or is it just the one person?

    • 3 people will eat free but you will need 3 viva cards

      • No you don't, you just need to call to reserve and mention the promotion, you don't even need the card at all.

  • if i go to sheraton corn exchange, can i book for 6 people and get BOGOF for each pair?

    • Here is what is written under T&C on the website: "Offer subject to availability. There is a limited number of seats available each day for this specific promotion. Reservations are essential. Must quote VIVA at time of reservation. Maximum of 10 pax per reservation. Rates are not valid without a reservation. Not to be used in conjunction with any other offer or promotion."

Since it says max of 10 pax per reservation, I'm assuming you'd get BOGOF for each pair up to 5 pairs? Guess the only way to be sure is to call, and you'd have to call to book anyway.

      • great :)

        • It definitely works that way at Corn Exchange… I went with a party of 17 (had to make 2 seperate bookings!) and got a BOGOF for 8 pairs.

@Kasumi - I went on Tues Oct 27 and in the fresh seafood section they had champagne lobsters, blue swimmer crabs, prawns, oysters, 2 types of sashimi and some octopus

    • Yes, you just need to mention the Viva promotion when you're ringing to book, I called yesterday to book for 6 people under the promotion

  • Sweet!

Anyone know if corn exchange still have the lobsters etc on weeknights of is it a smaller seafood selection?

    • I'll be going on Saturday, so I'll let you know then =)

    • I just called and the lady told me the difference for weekends and weeknights is apparently the lobster. So I guess there won't be any lobster on weeknights.

Edit: But then again, someone above said he went on Tuesday and there was lobster? Maybe you can call to double check. :)

      • i ate there on a weekend (25nd oct i think) as part of the last 2 for 1 deal and we were given the half lobster with the cheese on top ($75 rate). there is also lobster on the buffet table (there both weekends and weeknights); it is smaller and i feel less tasty. so basically two types of lobster - or maybe the smaller ones are moreton bay bugs? (dont hold me to that!)

I will be heading back again, not sure if it will be a weekend or weeknight as yet. I am not sure if the 1/2 lobster was worth the extra $10 :) but overall good value. I can also highly recommend the mash potato it was fabulous and i even asked the waitress to find out how they cook it - they bake rather than boil.

we spent over 3 hours there, it was a great evening. service is awesome.

  • I think the difference is on the weekends, they serve you half lobster baked with cheese. One per customer. But on the buffet side, there are plenty of plain lobsters. It's quite worth is as you need to pay $18 for half lobster cooked that way in the fish market.

I just book two seats with Corn Exchange for this coming Saturday.
The girl who answers the phone is not friendly. I can feel her attitute changed when she knew that I was asking for buy one get one free deal……

    • +1

scr**w her, who cares what she thinks, it's not like she owns the place. Go and have a good time!

    • That's strange, I called today to re-schedule a booking and the person was extremely friendly, even though I changed the booking from 6 people to 4 people. I've never had any unpleasant experiences making a reservation there before and I've been going there once every 1-2 months for the past year

seems like they only have limited seats for the viva promotion,
I called for this saturday and next and its fully booked.

    • +1

Yeah, they only allocate a certain proportion of seats for the promotion. I had the lobster on the weekend, was the first time I've had the dinner promotion with the extra 1/2 lobster per person. To be honest, I found it quite disappointing, I preferred the champagne lobsters on offer at the buffet table. The food was once again amazing, the sashimi was a standout. The sushi was horrid however, cold and hard. The desserts were great and there was a really good view of the fireworks(not sure why, perhaps Christmas rehearsal?). All up it was great food and a perfect view of the fireworks, so I was quite happy with the $40 I spent on dinner =)

  • Freaking awesome deal, I've been to the Sherriton Seafood Buffet twice whilst this promotion was running. Does anyone know if this is a one yearly promotion, so same time each year or was it a once off. Can't wait for it to come around again for more cheap food
