Tiger's latest promotion is a buy-one-get-one-free deal. Although I picked a few dates in February and there appear to be no discount at all. Maybe others will have better luck than me.

1 for 1 deals are only applicable for bookings made in pairs, with a maximum of 8 passengers per booking. Buy between 12 Nov and 13 Nov 07. Fly from 1 Feb to 29 Feb 08. Conditions apply.

tried normal fare for 2x person ex perth - melb - $360ish total (1 person = $160ish return, so ~$80ish per sector)
tried the 1 for 1 fare, you can only get fares at $160ish each per sector. return will be $360 and you get to bring a friend for free! So, turns out in the end 2x person fare is still….. $360ish!
Which is OKAY compared to standard rate of $160 one way per person. JETstar's is also having a sale at http://www.jetstar.com/sale-fares.html?a=b&lang=auen&languag… and even they are offering $94 one way.
So, with that rate you can't really complaint. It's the normal SALE fare. And just to note out, the return ticket at $160 will total out $320 for 2 person return. Not $360.
The deal is only for flights to/from Melb.

I plugged in some dates for travel on tue/wed mid feb and it was showing 85-95$ tickets per person one way. A single ticket on the same day showed as 180$.
