Free Parking in Parramatta (NSW) over Easter Long Weekend

I went to Parramatta for lunch and saw the council carpark has free parking over the easter long weekend. I went to the Erby Place carpark but it should also apply to the other carparks as this is a similar deal to what they did over Christmas last year.

  I always interpret these free parking deals as "we don't want to pay penalty rates for our traffic cops so have some free parking".

  :EDIT: Let me make it clear I've only parked in a capital city once and not sure how it usually works. Please don't neg me, Senapais.

  Well done to the council. We were there today as well and enjoyed the free parking - it was a welcome alternative to the parking mess at Westfield which was overflowing with people and cars!

  Parramatta council did it during NYE and new years day too when we visited. Well done to the person who thought this was a great idea!
