  • It says $50 when I click buy. ????

    • put it in cart and checkout. its showing 19.90

      • hi Rep, last time I ordered two from you, the only issue is Post Office stick a label to warn that Express Post must be logged over the counter at a Post Office not supposed to be put into the red box. so, this is the only thing that worries me the sims might not come if I order more in the future if not posted properly

  • I'm with vodafone now on that $50 prepaid plan, if I was to buy it for $20 can I put my number on the Sim so it's just like buying credit for my phone now? or will I have to have a new number?

    • +2

you gotta then port out then port back in unless you give the customer help an excuse of this and that then they will transfer straight away for you but should not abuse it :)

      • Hi webtherapist,

Based on your feedback, these prepaid sim cannot be used as credit to recharge your prepaid number unless you port the number to other services like Lebara Boost and etc, then back.

Oh, no, I bought six of these sims when i think it was a bargain to get at $25 and I like to keep my existing number.

Is there other way around the issue?

It would be difficult to ask the customer help to do the same thing over six months, isn't it?

        Your advise is much appreciated.

        Bob

no need to panic, just grab some cheap prepaid sims like the $2 one, especially the Optus or Telstra ones for faster porting (normally within the first half an hour these days) or you can grab the $30 pre-paid ones for half price ($15 each for Telstra or Optus, depends on how strong the signal you get at where you are living), no need to feel panic, all good :). By porting in and out for my numbers, I save few hundred bucks per year at least ^^

also, always start the porting process right after 8am in the morning, best time of the day to have your number ported straight away in minutes, I usually have Optus ported my Vidafone in just 2-10', which I could not even believe in myself, probably because they are hungry of new users lol

        • @webtherapist:
          Hi WebTheRapist,

Excellent, thanks for the advise. very helpful.

          Cheers, Bob

        • @Bob Wang: you're welcome :)

        • Perhaps get a cheap dual SIM phone and only use the extra SIM for outgoing calls and receiving data.

However, your displayed number when calling will be the one of the SIM used. Also the phone may be restricted to 2G + 3G when operating with dual SIMS.

        I admire your honesty web

  • Hi Rep, if i buy it today, can I use and activate it in June?

    • +1

these packs have no expiry as they told us last time so assume it would be no problem :), love Voda 4G in Gold Coast, blows Telstra and Optus off with the blinky fast speed lol

  • OP, could you do a sale on this 50c starter kit that was going on KMart?

    http://www.phonebot.com.au/sim-cards/ipad-sim

    • Yes I'd like that one too, but think I may as well be pissing in the wind.

  • What happens after April 26th ?

    • +5

      April 27th

    • would be the same, look at their previous deadlines you can tell, this free calls thing to those countries been there for a while now :), plus more competition from Boost, Telstra, and Optus for more data etc, I don't think they would remove this feature but might add more data onto it, let's wait and see :). If Telstra can change for better value to customers, why Voda can't ;)?

  • Just ordered one, sounds like good value.
Lets see if the free international calls thingie last beyond April 27th…
Does anyone knows if the international call quality would be like laggy and breaking IP phone, or smooth like normal satellite calls?

    • +2

been with Vodafone somehow for international calls, no problem at all, crystal clear :)

    • +1

I have this deal for the international calls. Been using it since Nov. Call new zealand every day for about 4 hours and never had an issue. The international calls has been around for a while so will be beyond April :)

  • Are these express posted? Hoping to receive asap

    • they were posted w Express Post, received mine in just 2-3 days

      • -1

If posted correctly express post should be next day delivery.

  • It's still legal to use the deceptive word "cap" regarding mobile phone plans?

  • Is it ending Tuesday night?

  • N00B question but if I purchase one of these, will every subsequent recharge be $19.90 or does it go back up to $50?

    • +1

Dream on dude. The $19.90 is the price from the SIM starter kit + recharge. "credit" By default, Vodafone will assume you want to recharge on the $50 prepaid cap again but you can choose any other plan available.

      • Thought so, cheers.

  • thanx just got mine and ordered another
