So Telstra just upped my bandwidth to 500GB from 200GB

I wonder why? Was this targeted or did anyone other Telstra customers get this too?

No Optus lines in my area and couldn't get the $90 Unlimited bundle so I was going to upgrade my plan to Telstra's $150 500GB plan next week. So I just saved $70 a month.

Lots of others have had their plans upgraded also. It seems to be certain plans and being on or off contract doesn't matter. A third rollout for the extra data is happening this Sunday. http://whrl.pl/RefOHr

  • I've got a 200Gb cable plan with speed boost. Still no upgrade for me at this stage. Have only once ever hit the cap and used the free top-up. I get close enough though that I wouldn't be signing-up to any streaming services without the extra bandwidth!

    Only old plans or eligible for data allowance .

  • OK, thanks. That seems pretty clear to me. If you pointed that out to the Live Chat agents, and they still said you weren't entitled to it, I'd try to take it higher up the chain (or just wait and see if they are proved wrong eventually). Also assuming it's a personal (if that's what they mean by "consumer"), not business, plan.
