So Telstra just upped my bandwidth to 500GB from 200GB

I wonder why? Was this targeted or did anyone other Telstra customers get this too?

No Optus lines in my area and couldn't get the $90 Unlimited bundle so I was going to upgrade my plan to Telstra's $150 500GB plan next week. So I just saved $70 a month.

Update

Lots of others have had their plans upgraded also. It seems to be certain plans and being on or off contract doesn't matter. A third rollout for the extra data is happening this Sunday. http://whrl.pl/RefOHr

    Yeah we got our internet upped from 500gb to 1tb we never even use 500gb

    I've got a 200Gb cable plan with speed boost. Still no upgrade for me at this stage. Have only once ever hit the cap and used the free top-up. I get close enough though that I wouldn't be signing-up to any streaming services without the extra bandwidth!

    We didn't receive an email or text so thanks for this post. I checked our account details online last night and noticed we got our 200GB upgraded to 500GB and we're on $70 a month. Now to go check out Netflix for the their 1 month free trial :)

    I am on Telstra Broadband 200GB Cable and still not yet upgraded

    Did online chat and representative said not all plans are eligible

    Only old plans or eligible for data allowance .

    A friend at work just got upped overnight from 200gb to 500gb on cable. He's on a phone & 'Liberty' cable internet small biz bundle.
    Jealous, as his speeds are awesome compared with my ADSL2+!

    Two Telstra Live Chat agents are telling me I wont get this as I am on a new broadband plan (I've been with them 6 months)

    Is that right ? Their website says all plans will get the upgrade

      Does that mean it's via NBN, or does Telstra have its own FTTP? And do you have a link to where the web site says it applies all plans?

    OK, thanks. That seems pretty clear to me. If you pointed that out to the Live Chat agents, and they still said you weren't entitled to it, I'd try to take it higher up the chain (or just wait and see if they are proved wrong eventually). Also assuming it's a personal (if that's what they mean by "consumer"), not business, plan.
