They have arrived today, quality is over rated, sorry.
Build quality of them? Exceptional. Packaging, exceptional. Look - pretty darn good overall.
However.
I played back a song on my Galaxy S3 and thought "wow these are so good, I need to switch to flac, maybe? Perhaps that's why it's so hollow sounding??" - nope
The treble / non bass range is just completely hollow.
I have here a several cheap (sub $30?) pairs of classic "Sony MDR-E737" headphones (NOT headset, no Mic)

The sound quality DESTROYS these, just destroys them.
The microphone? Well, it's very very "noisy" no noise reduction, there's a hiss in the air and my el-cheapo blackberry headset destroys that too.
Sorry - but that's how I see it.
I would be willing to put up with a weak mic if the audio was amazing but the only amazing thing about these is
1, cheap
2, build quality
3, how long they take to ship.

Song used "Nightmares on Wax - "Thought So" - fairly good quality MP3 listening specifically to the trumpet / lyrics at the 1:50mark onwards.
Also to add to that, they hurt my ears, the metal part digs in to the ear near the exit.

I think they are vastly over-rated, that's the problem. Sorry but that's how I see it.
Its extremely easy to mirror the external looks of packaging and build, all while replacing the drivers with shoddy rip-offs, its what all fake headphone makers do, they have gotten very good at it.
Yes, i am pretty agree with you. Not all well looks item with good quality. Many sellers do that to get more profit, that's not so good.

I purchased these from another OzB post from a local seller and had them in my hands less than 24 hours later. Sometimes it pays off to buy local for a bit more
Are you sure you got a genuine? Xiaomi Piston are almost ubiquitously regarded as amazing value for the price.
Having a hollow, weak sound sound EXACTLY like the hallmark of a fake. Either that or the buds arn't creating a proper seal in your eardrum, which is why I am not a fan of IEMs
Did you buy them from ibuygou? Ibuygou is the only known reputable Xiaomi reseller, if you got it from any where else (well, I heard Mushtato have been pretty good about these things too) then it might have been a fake.
I remember when I trusted banggood to deliver a genuine pair of Pistons as the store rep was adamant they were real, and then they turned out to be fakes.

yes, surely, we purchase them directly from xiaomi, pls no worry.
I got them from THIS SELLER and they look very very legit.
Fact is, they have tiny drivers in them, nothing can make up for a decent driver size like the Sony I linked
Also the mic is basically aids, sorry but it's super "shhhhhhhhchchhshsh" noisy, no silencing.

From my screenshots of US order - US Order screen and US Paypal screen, the price is reduced, but in AU order screen AU Order screen the price is $20.49 but in AU Paypal Screen the price goes back to $23.05.
It also does not work if I simply checkout and pay by cc.

The one is the most updated version. We don't usually use 2.0 and 2.1 in China.

I picked up a pair and despite slow shipping these appear to be the genuine article from Ibuygou.
Does anyone know if Xiaomi have stopped scenting their headphones? My first pair from Mushtato had them but my next two pairs from Chinese sellers didnt. Also can't check serial number validity on Xiaomi site due to Chinese CAPTCHA.
The ones I got the other day from mushtatos deals were scented. So they still should be unless I got old stock.
The ones I received from Ibuygou during last couple of weeks were not scented (vanilla).
Also, the L and R were not printed in red.
Using AUD, the cart shows $20.49 but when I click checkout with PayPal, it appears as $23.05 (the original price without the coupon code)…
