Tune Hotels $0.10 Malaysian Ringgit, Only Pay for Admin Fee (~$10) + Optional Extras

170

Hi fellow OzBargainers,
Just a heads up to those who taking advantage of the AirAsia sales, and have a stopover in Malaysia (as well as Bali and Indonesia).
I've booked a room in September, and the room itself costs $0.10 Malaysian Ringgit + an admin fee of $10 Ringgit.
Converted to Australian dollars it's about $3-4 per night!

Also, please note that this hotel functions on an absolute bare minimum, so if you want air-conditioning (a ceiling fan is installed), or say towels, you will need to pay extra.

But hey, aren't we supposed to get the best deal on things, and make do with less?

The promo dates are from the 1/8/2010 to 31/10/2010, quite a while ahead.

Cheers,
trinz

  • Tune hotel at KL Airport doesn't seem to be included .

    • Actually, it is. KLIA-LCCT, Sepang is the airport (at least for AirAsia flights).

  • Does that mean you can book a room for the entire 3 months for 19 ringgit (90 x 0.10 + 10), assuming the admin fee is only applied once per booking?

    • I think you can only select a maximum of 10 nights per booking, hence I would imagine that the admin fee will be applied for each lot of 10*bookings.

  • I stayed in Tune hotel LCCT twice in the last two months. What I can say

    1. Basic hotel which was NOT clean at all.
    2. The toilet seat was dirtiest I ever seen (I travel a lot due to work).

    Why I still stayed there?

    1. I am stupid.
    2. Touched down at midnight. Connecting flight back to Melbourne was next day 13:xx.

Shit hotel, period. Any other reasonable hotel in KL will be better than them. Shame of them. I am not complaining the room is small etc. I am just saying it is dirty which should be the first thing to get it right for a hotel. Try to avoid it but not at all cost, as location makes perfect sense. If I have more than 12 hours transit, I will go into KL city, sleep in a proper hotel. At least then I can sit and shit, rather …

    • Ive stayed at this hotel and found it clean and tidy. Would stay there again if I needed to wait for a plane. Plus there is free internet to use.

      • strange, respect your comment there. Maybe I am a little bit unlucky twice. Yeah, I do agree with you, I will still stay there again if I needed to wait for a plane.

        • why don't you complain with the front reception? I'm sure they will send someone to clean it or transfer you to other room?

          • @davidl2: man, did exactly that, first time, sorry sir, it is too late now. second time, sorry sir, it is too late now. Both instance it was like mid night, no cleaning staff around. the problem was not only the toilet, but the floor also has bugs dead body. :)-

            • @jingsu6688: Yes, they only employ cleaning staff during office hour, before or after that, too bad.

Here what I found for 9th Aug 2010

Tune Hotels.com KLIA - LCCT Airport, Sepang Double room Double room (1 Queen size bed) MYR 53.00

    • Those were the dates that the cheap rooms were available for.
Also, it's a case of first in, best dressed. So it's not at all surprising that the rooms have increased in price.
