Any android device with just 1gb of ram is virtually unusable these days. Certainly multitasking would be torturously slow.
The 1024x600 res screen would make reading almost unbearable.

Stripped down Tab with only camera being a 2MP rear facing, poorer screen than other Samsung, slow performance.
Only worthwhile if you really want to read News Ltd paper.
My Father subscribes to 1 paper per week, costing $130/yr. Upgrading to 7 day subscription in my name would bring that up to $249, so $119 extra for tablet. Can walk to shop selling these for $129. The extra papers would be donated to neighbour, certainly not read.
Will save my money & put towards a tablet I would enjoy, rather than artificially prop up News Limited circulation.

Should change the title and remove "(Up to $670 value)" as it's misleading.
It is in the newspaper deal description, "Up to $670 value* " * value calculated at 19/2/15 according to News. Valuation also based on other included subscriptions (movies, ebooks, Fox Sport, etc) in package, not just papers & tablet (at RRP). Not that I would believe their valuation.
The iPad's are actually pretty good value considering the previous gen is usually around the $450 mark and perform very well

This is only a sub to the digital edition isn't it? Not the paper based one delivered by the newsagent at 4 am in the morning over the fence and on the driveway.
Well spotted, I missed that detail. It is the $5/wk Digital membership you are subscribing to. You are joining their <newspaper name> PLUS service.
Yes better to put the funds towards a better tablet. A lot of libraries have digital access to these papers online for members so worth going down that path. If it was the actual physical newspaper delivered it might be quite a good deal but it isnt.
