Due to the increasing number of sites offering free public Wi-Fi, we have created this thread for users to add the locations as they find them in the comments below.

Japan Connected-free Wi-Fi is an application that makes it possible to connect to Wi-Fi networks easily at approximately 16,000 access points located at Narita Airport, Haneda Airport, major JR East railway stations, Seven-Eleven stores and elsewhere. The app is free to download, and it is also completely free to connect to Wi-Fi networks in the service areas.

  Just a quick note for this service - you need to sign up with a valid phone number to be able to receive the registration code SMS. So either do this before you leave Australia, or you will have to be able to receive SMSs in Singapore to be able to activate the service.

Most Libraries and Tourist Info centres have free WiFi…check them out…probably safer than a cafe.

I'm currently in Thailand and have just spent a couple of weeks in Cambodia. I have not bothered getting a tourist Sim card as free wifi is everywhere from shit hole roadside stops to regular markets and it's mostly 5g
