  • Thanks OP. I just bought one from Rhodes Bing Lee, heaps left… at least 35 or more

  • Lots of comments indicating different temperatures in consecutive readings. It seems not to be reliable, and it's a deal breaker for a medical device.

Own a different brand, from knowledge, the angle where it point makes lots of difference.

    • I have a cheap from DX (was the cheapest that had decent reviews at the time, about 5 bucks) and it works fine, well enough that it's replaced my terumo standard thermometer. The angle does make a difference, but it's no big deal

I've owned a few different brand ones too and all the cheap ones aren't accurate. The only one which returns reliable temps is the same one used by doctors and hospitals - the Braun one. Not cheap though. http://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/product.asp?id=31748
