  • Deliveries are via a truck, so not possible where there's no truck parking (e.g. underground carpark or no street parking big enough for trucks). The first time I tried they had to park 10 mins away and I had to drive to the truck to pick up my groceries. It was unusual for people to see me get my shopping out the back of a truck… The irony is I live right above Woolies, and just wanted to try the service just for the sake of it (shopping from my desk and use their free delivery offer). Fully lame I know.

    • I was thinking why didn't they hand deliver it from upstairs but then I realise they have to pack your groceries from a warehouse? At least now you know.

Am I'm missing something… haven't Coles & Woolies always offered free 1st delivery to new customers with $30 spend?

    • +2

Not sure about Coles, but Woollies definitely has been doing this for yonks!

      • Was recently withdrawn.

    • I think Coles is $100 spend.

and free delivery every Wednesday with $100 min spend

    • I know for Woolies you are right; for new customers its free delivery above $30 and for existing its above $100 spend.

    • Woolies withdrew the 3 free deliveries with $30 spend for new customers recently. They are trying to move people onto their new subscription delivery service. So the 1 free delivery is now just a tease.

I kept re-registering my existing EDR cards as a new customer (same number, different email etc) for free deliveries. But recently received PMs from OzBargainers following my suggestions that free deliveries offer had stopped. Free deliveries on my accounts were removed :-(

So it has not been always available. This is their new offer.

  • How did you get the email if not already a customer, i.e. making you ineligible for the free delivery.

    • customer who hasn't had any orders delivered, only click+collect :)

    • That is absolutely right?! not sure why I got the email when i am already a customer… conspiracy!!

    1st Time Customers Only

There wouldn't be many people in Australia who have never shopped at Woolies before.

    • Not 1st time customer; on your first ON-LINE order to be technically correct.
Don't think lot of people do order on-line.

  • +1

Yeah just create a new account :)

    • Yup but make sure you remember password for new account as sometimes when they stuff up the order they send discount vouchers (as compensation for causing inconvenience) to your email used while placing order.

  • Can you buy gift cards online from Woolies? It would be a riot having a truck deliver a gift card.
