Miele G 6300 SC Freestanding Dishwasher $1399

160

I have been researching dishwashers for a while and Miele reviews well for both cleaning and drying.
This model has a cutlery tray(not basket) which people love after trying and auto open after washing which I believe is unique to Miele.
However this is a freestanding model which is 60cm deep instead of 57cm deep like you would find in underbench model. It will stick out 3cm if you decide to place it under a bench.
I have not seen any discounts as large as this on any Miele dishwashers in the past, so get in quick!
Just need to find a good washing machine deal now :)

What is the discount on the machine?

Good deal ! The only problem I can see is that you may activate one of the controls as you lean against the benchtop. (I have that minor problem with ours - a Bosch - as it sticks out a bit).

  • The link is to a page with no way of purchasing it?
    Does this price include delivery?

    • As it's Miele, it will be the same price regardless of which store you get it at.

Edit: The bonus dishwasher powder is good too. I've been using it for a while.

  • If you want to buy it here is the link -

Bonus 12 month supply of dishwasher powder consists of 4 x Dishwasher Powder Detergent, valued at $79.80.

  • Great price. I paid $950 for an equivalent Bosch with cutlery tray and bonus powder - and that was a fantastic buy that I've not regretted. The auto-door open would be a great advantage.
    Thanks op!

    • Hi. Which bosch did you get? There are too many to choose from!!

  • Sorry for not including the link to buy. When I was using the Miele link the $700 discount hadn't been updated yet.

I bought mine over the phone through Winning Appliances Narellan, tel. 02 46369100 using credit card.

Free delivery was included and an option for delayed delivery as I am currently overseas.

  • Samsung also have auto-door open at the end of the cycle in their WaterWall series, so it's not quite unique to Miele.

  • Very tempted to get this dishwasher! Rated well in Choice and was included in their top 10 best buys.

Unfortunately no reviews for this dishwasher on productreview.

Was the 5300 model the preceding one? Reviews for that model seem favourable.

    • If you're going by choice why not buy the top rated bosch dish washer which I was able to source from the good guys for 850, a saving of over 500 from the miele in the op.

I suspect miele is the Apple of the appliance world….

      • What model bosch was that one? (I don't have access to choice) thanks

Bosch SMS40M12AU. I haven't received it yet as I am waiting for a new kitchen installation and other dependent renovations.

I'll give you a review, and an opinion - you'd be a fool to pass it up for this price. lol

We tossed up between bosch and this one, and side-by-side there's just no comparison. The trays on the bosch are more flimsy than these, and they run more smoothly on the Miele. Another deciding factor was that the Bosch model number changed, while it appeared no change was made - previous model was made in Germany, with fantastic reviews, newer one is manufactured in Spain, and reviews are less than stellar.

We've had the Miele for only 3 or 4 months, but can find no fault with it. It washes perfectly every time, is quiet, and is water and energy efficient. There's enough height adjustment there that you can either pop it in under the bench if you already have a cubby there for one, or raise it to the height of the bench. The auto door opener is fantastic. Something to consider is that it WON'T dry plastics, but everything else is left clean and dry. We're using Earth Choice tablets because we have a grey water system, so Finish are not really suitable, but we'd bought Finish before we read that, so have used one or two and can give a comparison. The Finish Powerball leaves a bit of a white film, whereas the Earth Choice is crystal clear. They're cheaper than the best price you'll get on Finish, and have come up on sale couple of times since we got the machine, so it looks like it might be reasonably regular, hopefully.

You should be able to get it for this price at any stockist. The stores themselves do not sell Miele as such, they simply act as agents. To the extent that they will not take your money - they will hook you up to the Miele site where you pop in your credit card details directly. As such, they are not eligible to be bought with any instore interest-free promotions.

If I've missed anything, feel free to ask.

      • Oops didn't see the bit about the bonus dishwasher tabs - doesn't look like you'll need to worry about that for a bit anyway. With those thrown in the price really is fantastic. We got it for around $1600, so spewing a bit at this price, but scored $300 each off fridge and freezer that wasn't advertised anywhere, so not complaining.

        • Which stockist did you buy from to get the discount on the fridge?

        • We bought from Joyce Mayne, but they didn't know about it themselves. It just came up at that price when they were entering the sale into the Miele system.

      • As far as drying plastics, this would be the same with most of the current batch of dishwashers.
Older dishwashers had big elements in the base to heat the water and dry the dishes which wasn't the most energy efficient method.
Newer dishwashers have alternative methods of heating and rely on the heat in the dishes after rinsing and various venting methods to dry. These systems work well on materials that hold heat but less well on plastics.

The only dishwashers that still have exposed elements are the cheap Chinese made ones with 1 or 2 stars of energy efficiency.

Had a Miele for 20 years and it is still going strong!

This is what Choice have to say about this model:

    Miele G 6300 SC
    78% CHOICE RATING
    Price

    $1999

    Good points
    • Very good drying score
    • Most reliable brand
    • Has auto or sensor program

    Bad points
    • Expensive to run
    • No rinse only
    • Long average program time

    • Long average program time

The quick wash and sensor wash cycles are fairly reasonable.

I haven't seen the article, but how did they come up with expensive to run, please? Energy efficiency and water efficiency were what got it onto our shortlist.

      • Choice ratings are based on the standard cycle. Efficiency ratings are based on the best eco cycle the machine can do.

  • I don't know whether they even stock these, and whether it would apply given that you pay directly to Miele, but I got an inbox from Good Guys this morning offering 10% cashback in the form of an eftpos gift card for any dishwasher over $700

    • Is that a targeted offer as it doesn't appear on their website? I don't think they stock miele but am after the bosch one anyway.

      • Nope, was just an ad. I'll see if I can find you the link

EDIT - you can't find it because it has now expired, was only for a day.

        • Thanks anyway
