Had a quick look through the review at TFT Central and this bit is important for those looking to run it at 4K 60Hz:

Important 4k Note: One thing to note is that the screen comes as default set at DisplayPort mode 1.1. This will only support 3840 x 2160 at 30Hz maximum, so if your graphics card supports DP 1.2 you need to go into this section and change the setting to 1.2. This will then allow you to set the screen at the full 60Hz refresh rate in Windows.

It only makes sense to buy 4k for use as PC monitor, but I could not find any pc card that support 60hz bandwidth with Chroma subsampling 4:4:4 , that funny TV maker try to push consumer to upgrade their TV without having enough support from other side of the world e.g. content and source equipment.

  • Can anyone comment about HDMI 2.0 vs displayport 1.2 ?

  • Pretty much the price it was originally releaed at (given the AU dollar atm, that's pretty good).

I ended up getting the Dell 34" instead of this, and I'm mostly happy with it (apart from a bit of backlight bleed). People may wish to check out the thread on Hardforum for more user experiences on this monitor - I'd be pretty tempted to pick this up to compare but alas, computer fund says no

  • From what I can gather, if you remove the stand you can also remove the little bulge at the bottom with the Philips logo on it, which would make the bezel much cleaner for certain uses (for using in a virtual pinball cabinet for instance, or a tiled display). Not 100% certain though.

    • Unfortunately it's not detachable out of the box. You may be able to mod it but wouldn't recommend.

  • This monitor is awesome. It has PBP which allows up to 4 separate screens from 4 different inputs BUT be aware the inputs are specific.

Basically they are DP (up to 1.2), Mini DP (up to 1.2 I think), HDMI (1.4), MHL-HDMI (1.4 and can be used as regular HDMI), VGA and RS-232.

The 4K single DP 1.2 option is amazing.

For the people who are fussy about viewing angles etc as it's a VA panel the viewing angles can distort the colour slightly if you're far away.

I replaced a 3 screens setup with this and a GTX 980. I sit about 60 cm away from it and can't tell any colour distortion.

I've looked at a lot of options and this was by far the best.

I also bought mine from PLE and they were great.

Great monitor - very very tempted - postage to Brisbane via Eparcel looks to be ~$50 - any chance you can do any better than this?
