MSY don't stock Crucial and that price on the M550 is actually really cheap considering the AUD right now. Also, the MX550 is probably one of the best value/price SSD on the market.

The deal page says the MX100 is 550MB/s read and 500MB/s write, and the 550 is only 550MB/s read and 350MB/s write.
So the mx100 is faster, but cheaper? Is that right?
Don't go by what their page says, use http://ssd.userbenchmark.com/ for user (real world) benchmarks.
That said, the 550 should be faster.
I thought the MX line were newer.
The MX line is newer than M line, but the 550 is their higher performance range. SO MX100 replaced the M500, but the M550 is still the higher performer.
The lower capacity drive I believe is the one that has the slower write speed, but 256GB and up have the faster speeds.
