Sistema Klip It Range - Less than Half Price at Woolworths

310

Woolworths current specials flyer has the Sistema Klip it range for LESS than half price!
The catalogue just shows some of the sizes, but online you will find the full range also on special.
I use this range for storage in my pantry and was waiting for them to be on special to stock up.
(great for flour, sugar, rice, pasta etc!!)
haven't seen them anywhere cheaper than this!
I'm based in Brisbane and have seen them on sale in store, not sure if this is nation wide!

Can be purchased in stores and online while stocks last.
Enjoy!

A couple of years ago I became obsessed with Sistema, and would buy them when on sale at Woolworths/Coles. I actually felt compelled to buy them when on sale. I now have about three times as many of them as I need.

The Eneloops equivalent in the kitchen…

      • To save anyone else the Google, these are food storage containers.

  • It's Nationwide. I bought some 380ml flat rectangular ones yesterday. I've got enough of all the other varieties.

  • Are the containers with the microwave air vent on sale too?

I do like Sistema, but I would prefer to keep flour in airtight containers. Sistema aren't and don't claim to be airtight. That said, they are great for food storage generally.

Yeah, I find it amusing that they have a rubber gasket, and the side clips appear to press the lid down tightly, giving the appearance of an air/water tight seal…..but they don't! The gasket is useless!

      • Yep, I have a few. They look airtight, but definitely are not. Pyrex is way better.

(great for flour, sugar, rice, pasta etc!!)

Not great for sugar, because they aren't airtight. In humid conditions (e.g. Brisbane), the sugar becomes "wet", and you won't want to use it. Biscuits stored in Sistema go soft after a while.

I'd gladly pay full price for Sistema if they were actually airtight, instead of just looking like they should be.

For non-food products, Sistema are great. For long-term storage of food products, glass jars with rubber seals are far better. What are these called? Canning Jars? Mason Jars? There seems to be some confusion with the screw-top-lid type. Example: http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Bormioli-Rocco-1.5-lite…

    • What you need is Décor RealSeal.

  • the best tupperware/pastic containers I bought to date is the decor one with vaccum seal! That's awesome for keeping bikkies and other goodies!

  • like Sistema for food storage, using a couple of them but hates their false claimed "airtight" & over the top pricing.

Not value for money unless it's on discount (like now) or else buy some other brands instead.

  • Anyone seen a Woolworths (in QLD) that stocks the Sistema cupcake/cake carry case?

  • I have wayyyy too many of these containers! But i cant stop myself from buying more!

  • I find the sistema bakery range has a better seal, but they don't appear to be on sale this week.

  • i bought the salad one but its crap because it leaks. i bought the aldi ones a year ago and they still are going strong and dont leak at all. going to return sistema

  • Eh. makes my cracker and biscuits soft. No good for long holding times. Fridge/Microwave lunches? Fab.

  • I prefer Décor, they lighter and more airtight despite not having a gasket. Also, gaskets fall off every time.

  • I have a cupboard full of them, bought on special too, but after I had one batch that continued offgassing chemical smells and tastes into the food for months, I am gradually in the process of switching to glass.

It was after the floods here in Qld, and weevils were into everything, so I figured I'd put EVERYTHING into these. I ended up throwing masses of food away for chemical taste instead of weevils. 2 years later and some of that batch of containers STILL stink.

When I contacted the company about this, simply asking how I could treat them to get rid of the smell, I was told their containers are not vermin-proof, and that I should get my house fumigated instead- VERY helpful, I'm sure!

    • +1 to trying to find deals on glass storage options such as Pyrex.

  • The very large ones are great for storing Lego . My husband having a touch of. OCD insists on storing kids lego individually be the set.

  • We purchased a large number of these a while ago for a combination of long term storage (dry foods, rice, pasta etc), and taking leftovers to work for lunch.

For general storage they are alright, but for leftovers they do leak and any smells are really hard to remove. It's also hard to clean under the rubber seal if anything gets stuck there.

Admittedly I didn't do my research before buying, so I can't complain too much. Up until reading this post I still thought they were supposed to be air-tight.
