Yer not sure why the Luigi separate game is so expensive. You can buy it on the eshop as an add-on.
I'm pretty sure it had a limited production run as its effectively DLC/ an expansion. Can't find a link to clarifies this, but with most nintendo things, low supply inflated the price

Tell me about it! I have temporarily given up searching for a disc copy. It was released in 2013 to celebrate "Year Of Luigi" and only limited copies were meant to printed but I saw them available for sale till mid last year.
Ozgameshop were selling copies until few months back for around $45-$50. Should have purchased it then but by the time I noticed ebay copies were going up in price - it has sold out. Haven't seen it back in stock since. :(
You can buy digital version, but only via an "add on" if you own New Super Mario Bros U. It cannot be purchased individually through the eshop.
Just did some research, apparently, Super Luigi is just Super Mario, but without Mario, and more difficult with a time limit of 100s per level.
I suppose it's something I can do without, not too big on the disc ownership!
Yes, but all the levels have been re-designed.
I finished Mario Wii U a few months back and still find myself going back to it to collect all the star coins and to find the secret exits I missed. Not because I feel I have to complete the game at 100% but because I'm still finding it fun (and at times frustrating) to play.
If you really like a challenge, try to complete the levels on the Superstar road (secret levels).
Last I saw, eb still had copies of the double game on their site for $46+shipping. I also found 1 in store. Great price.
I think I remember upboating a post some time last year when this was $35 delivered from OzGameShop. Nice to see it's still floating around this price.
