You need to apply the code HELLO40.
doh..did not notice that..
Huh. This is Dick smith
That too LOL.
No lens?
Impressive list of specs on the DS website!
No lens?
It's a SLK if you zoom in on the camera it will show you what type, the specs are under overview and not specs for some reason
I own this camera and it usually comes with a 35-55 DX lens. Its a decent entry level DSLR for the price. I brought the same kit at Paxton's in Sydney for about $560ish less $50 cashback and 10% TSR refund at the airport. Paxton's came down in price without any bother and they also offer free photography lessons so I would rather go with them. Still a good price though but lame of DSE not to put the lens specs up.
35-55 DX?
Another lens to add to my exotic lens collection.
DX lens are the cheaper end of the range while the FX is the upper range for full frame photography. I've only just started off so the DX range is good enough for me at the moment. I brought a 35mm fixed lens for street scene photography in Bangkok. Want to get a 300mm zoom as where I live I have a birds eye view of the nightlife and associated alcohol fueled violence to document. Once you have the camera body it is only the beginning…..
@Icecold5000: I think you missed the point. 35-55DX did you mean 18-55DX?
Any views on the soundbar? Is it any good for use in livig room?
I grabbed it for the kids rumpus room back when it was $79 and for the price it's great and is certainly a huge step up from the tv speakers. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a budget soundbar.
I use one for the bedroom TV. Much better than the TV speakers, but not great compared to even a fairly cheap 2.1 speaker setup. If space is not an issue I would get some powered 2.1 speakers, something like the Swan M10s or if you want to grow your home theatre in future maybe a separate amp and passive speakers.
Great deals thanks
Great deal. Sub $400 hit my temptation threshold. Thanks.
Any idea on the type of lens? Better than the deal on kogan?
Also pardon my ignorance but where does it state you can get cash back on it?
For those who want to use HELLO80, the code doesnt't work, don't bother trying.
Does the Niko DLSR come with an attachable lens? If so, what type of lens is it?
Essentially wanting to get a reconfirmation of this: http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2286659Thanks.
I think I'll hold out for DSLR cameras with 4k video.
Not too much more http://www.kayellaustralia.com.au/canon-cinema-camera-p-2371…
How is this compared to 3200?
NEVER use snapsort. It's computer generated and wherever it gets specs from they are stated differently for different cameras even between models that are just an upgrade on the previous. So it looks like there are differences that aren't there (because they're not listed or listed differently), and it misses things. You're better off to read reviews by human beings on the newer camera which often mention the previous model. If they're very different cameras, you're still better off to read reviews by humans, preferably from the same place, on the two.
ok a little harder but go to the Nikon website, the d3300 isn't listed but if you search it will come up, click compare, then search the d3200 and click compare and you will get a chart :)
Much better if you don't want to bother reading a review. Personally I never buy a camera without reading lots of reviews and googling for issues with the model. Either D3200 or D3300 are good bare bones entry level DSLRs though. Great sensors. D3300 is better.
@syousef: Yeah I like to get reviews from Amazon because so many give great reviews
@syousef: Only if the D3300 had an articulated LCD. Would be perfect for travel camera for both photo and video. 5300 costs too much.
I think you'll find the price of the D5300 will come down as the D5500 has just been released.
What I really wish is that the D7100 had an articulated screen. I'm not sure why Nikon still have such poor tilt screen or nothing at all on their more professional cameras. Canon have done that aspect right. Same with building flash commanders and high speed sync into the lower end models - for Nikon you need a D7100 to get it on a Nikon. Nikon have done other things right and have the better IQ. The D7100 produces some really nice images.
Amazon's a good start if you are careful and keep in mind that some reviews for some products are faked.
I was thinking more along the lines of dpreview, steve's digicams, cameralabs, dxo and the like. They tend to do some very indepth testing and if I'm spending upwards of $500 on a camera I want to know what I'm getting myself into.
According to JB HIFI website the D3300 is $478. With $50 cash back it comes to $428. Am I missing something?
