GoCatch, the taxi hailing & payment app offers $20 credit when you link your Paypal account. This app is for regular licensed taxis so the same rates apply.

It works in NSW, Victoria, Canberra, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Perth, Adelaide and Tasmania. According to the map there is 1 taxi in NT (Pamayu) but that seems to be parked in a middle of a lake.

  • Up to AUD $20.00 altogether will be automatically credited to your goCatch account when you add PayPal as a funding source to your goCatch account through the goCatch app.
  • There’s a maximum of 1,000 x AUD $20 vouchers able to be saved to the goCatch app.
  • Should the full value of the voucher not be used in the first trip after adding your PayPal account, the remaining balance of the voucher will be available for subsequent trips taken with goCatch and paid with PayPal.
  • The offer is only available to users who have not previously added PayPal as a funding source on the goCatch app.

If you are:

  • an existing member who hasn't linked up Paypal, then link it up to get $20 credit.
  • an existing member who has linked up Paypal, you get nothing. Sorry!
  • a new user:

Sign up with a referral code to get $10. Use codes from the

GoCatch wiki and feel free to add your code.

I've only put my code in the wiki to start off the process but please use regular member's referral codes first.

So a new user will get $10 referral (referrer also gets $10) + $20 for Paypal for $30 in total. My friend sent me this deal tonight so have tested it out and both credits were added almost immediately.
You will only get your credit after they take their first trip. (Thanks Holysmoke)

Note, you will get a $.01 authorization from Paypal. Paypal/GoCatch will cancel the authorization shortly after.

          Actually, I just re-read the email.

          You authorised a payment of $0.01 AUD to Taxi Apps Pty Ltd ([email protected])

          Looking at my account, it doesn't show a charge just an authorization. It then shows cancelled under transactions. Looks like GoCatch authorizes then cancels the transaction possibly for verification purposes.

    Not sure what happened, I was linking in Paypal and it crashed and had to do it all over again and it is link now but no credits showing; checked Paypal and there was 2 cancelled transactions, hope it still works for others :(

    got all the credit fine. tried logging out of the app and loggin back in?
    I linked my paypal account as part of the signing up and the credit did not apply. so i selected payment method and link to paypal and entered it again it, the credit showed up after that.

    Good offer but not even $20 free is going to make me change back from using UberX in Melbourne - 13Cabs and Silvertop can go out of business for all I care, they've refused fares and provided shitty service too many times. UberX in Melbourne is amazing now.

      I have had problems with Uber drivers in Melbourne preaching religion the entire time. I have also had multiple drivers who did not know how to drive. I went back to cabs.

        Please report them using Uber feedback. They should be kicked off the service. Don't be afraid to leave scathing feedback when appropriate.

          I reported them and Uber could not care less.

          Drivers will also say "I have rated you 5 out of 5 so now you must rate me" expecting me to rate them right then and there. They get annoyed if you say thank you and leave.

        Strange - Doing a quick search through my Uber receipt emails, I have used UberX 55 times so far.

        I have had one single instance where the seatbelts in the back didn't work properly - I reported it and received a personal email back from Uber saying they'll investigate it. There was also one single instance where the driver talked too much (though not about religion).

        In the vast majority of cases the cars have arrived quickly, the drivers have been nothing but courteous (often offering free bottles of water or chewing gum), cars have been clean and tidy. The service is a joy to use.

        Contrast this to regular 13Cabs and Silvertop cabs who CONSTANTLY refuse fares when it doesn't suit them - even refusing to take my girlfriend a short distance home. The Vic Taxi Services Commission makes this as hard to report as possible, even though it's illegal - I've tried. Cars are on average dirtier and lower spec than UberX cars, and it's definitely more expensive (especially now with $5/$6 flagfall late at night).

        I will NEVER get a licensed cab in Melbourne if UberX is available and hope the Silvertop/13Cabs cartel goes out of business.

          I have had the opposite experience with Uber. I always email them and they never reply when it's a complaint. I got an UberBlack one night as a treat on the way to a concert and the car that turned up was worse than my daily driver.

      Yes! Nothing is more infuriating than trying to get a cab at midnight and bring refused because the distance is too short. **** taxis.

    5% surcharge and they make out like they're doing you a favour. Apart from using the free paypal credit why would anyone pay with card/paypal when catching a cab.

      Your friend should have only got his referral credit after you have completed your first ride using your initial credit. Thats how the referral cedits normally work.

    Please follow below method to get 40$ in Total.

    1. Download the app if not installed
    2. Register with Promocode as "WELCOME01"
    3. As last step, link with pay pal.
    4. Go to voucher/referrals, you will see already 10$ now. Use Mod: Referral codes in comments not permitted any other code from wiki and apply Promocode & get 10$ instantly.
    5. Once Go Catch verifies your paypal, you get 20$ extra. So total 40$.

    In case anyone was wondering where to enter the referral code. You put it in the 'Vouchers' box after you download and log in to the app.
    Have given refferal to neil and added mine to the list.
