(Referral Required) Goget $60 Credit for New Members

60

(Mod, please let me know if this post needs to be adjusted)

Received an email newsletter from GoGet today, with one article mentions about them expanding to more areas in Sydney.

It then says "until the 15th of March we're offering $60 referral credit for members in new areas. That means $60 driving credit for you, and $60 credit for your friend. Just have them mention your name in the application."

The newsletter also mentions referral for its goStudent plan: "If you refer a student to sign up before March 15, you’ll both get $60 driving credit! Just have them mention your name in the application." (Thanks to roughana for pointing this out)

For those of you who are going to sign up with GoGet, it might be good to ask if a family or a friend already has an account and you'll both get driving credits.

Feel free to message me if you need a referral name. Cheers :)

I think it is worth noting the language used in the campaign newsletter, "for members in new areas". It is unclear whether they will only be applying referral credit if the person signing up lives in one of these new areas or not.

    New areas mentioned include:

    • Baulkham Hills
    • Warringah
    • Strathfield
    • Canada Bay

The email also targets signups from students, not necessarily in a new area:

If you refer a student to sign up before March 15, you’ll both get $60 driving credit!
Just have them mention your name in the application.

    Here's the student info page

    • The student plan is pretty awesome since its offers the highest tier plan GoFrequent which has the lowest hourly rate without the normal $29 monthly or joining fees. The only drawback for potential students members perhaps apart from insurance excesses in case of accident is the $500 security deposit they hold onto for this plan while you are a member, but that only equates to lost interest of ~ $20/year which is still better than the $49 annual charge on a full price GoStarter which only does a card pre-auth as required,

  • If you don't qualify for any of the offers in the text above, GoGet have another offer for $35for certain other suburbs on their site.

You can also try adding any coupon codes you find for waiving application fees or adding driving credit to your application. I was able to get them to add another code I had by e-mailing customer service before I applied but I wasn't using a referral. I don't know whether it helped but I think I mentioned something along the lines that their competitors had free join up and credit.

If you're considering GoStarter, Hertz 24/7's offeris superior in just about every respect (no free rental between 12am - 6am though) except their local network coverage. Note that GoGet have introduced an annual $49 free on the previously annual fee free GoStarter and removed the previous $49 joining fee.

CarNextDooralso have a small referral offer available to both borrowers and lenders of their P2P car share scheme.
I prefer their cheaper rates, which are for cars of greatly varying ages and types which simply add a booking fee that diminishes according to the monthly commitment rather than a varying hourly rate like GoGet. The base daily rate is also much lower since it doesn't include mileage. However, their network is pretty patchy outside Bondi Beach. MOD: REFERRAL SOLICITATION NOT PERMITTED
