No, the price printed on the receipt is the price negotiated prior to payment. It has nothing to do with the gift cards. Buying gift cards online through RAC or the like can nab you another 5% off, bringing the price down to ~$800

Yeah that's right. The price on the receipt is the price dealed with JB. You can get 5% discount from buying them at woolworths use RACV benefit. Not sure the price I dealed with JB is the best price or not but it is the cheapest public price compred to big w and other stores.

Pretty ordinary price considering new lineup of phones are coming out start of March and iPhone 7 to follow, paying next to RRP is a pretty lousy deal.

I never said to delay buying new phones because there will be newer ones coming out.
I said that since there is a chance that the iPhone 7 or iPhone 6c or s (whatever they want to call it) will come out this year, as rumoured, it is not worth buying near RRP. So my comment was more specific to this deal rather than a comment on phones in general. Next time, read what someone actually said - not what you want to think they said so you can have a nice whinge.
