Black Swan State Theatre Company $20 (Western Australia)

100

For those that want to feel a bit more cultural living in Perth. Or haven't been to live theatre before. Its cheaper than a standard price cinema ticket (in some places).

Heavily subsidised by Rio Tinto (more than 70% of the total ticket price) $20 tickets aim to provide access to the theatre to those that, for whatever reason, find a theatre experience prohibitive

Rio Tinto not only digs holes in the ground they also offer subsidised entertainment (if only it was alcoholic…) :3

P.S. Which cinema charges more than $20 for a standard ticket? If its not true then remove it..

Event cinemas Innaloo - $20 standard ticket + $1.10 booking fee + $4 for a VMAX cinema (optional). Of course, Telstra tickets are always an option so I never pay that.

  • Anyone know anything about these plays?

    • All I know is that Glengarry Glen Ross was an absolute ripper of a movie, with Al Pacino and Alec Baldwin amongst others. I understood that the script for the movie was the same as for the theatre production, others can advise if this correct or not.

  • Doesn't look like $20 per ticket when you investigate through their website..

    • The cheap tickets do no go on sale until 2 weeks before the performance, the first tickets will be available 9am on Wednesday 4 March.

  • Got mine, thanks. Looks like all dates except opening night are available. No service/booking fee.
But I was not given an option to choose seats. I guess we'll end up at the back. I didn't realise how big the theatre was - better take the opera glasses.
At least all seats seem to have a good view, aside from distance.
