    Ollldddddd.

    • EDIT - Nevermind.
This is a new deal, in which the pass CAN BE USED for during the school holidays, where as the old deal claimed you couldn't use it during school holidays.

Paintoad, please do your research before -ve vote is cast. This is not oollldd at all.

      • -8

Even the pass you can use during the holidays has been out for OVER a month…

        • However I found it and it has not been posted.

          • -2

@theguyrules: Has not been posted eh? The only boo boo in my argument is that I did not update my post when they renewed the offer. Still, do your research, theguySUCKSATSEARCHING!

P.S. Thanks to admin for my PRIZE FOR THIS OFFER! Check this thread:

              @tomw20: And?
I posted the NEW OFFER, as I seached and yours was outdated.
Therefore, people may have not been aware that
              a) it had been extended and,
              b) it is better.

Ergo, I am justified in posting.

              • @theguyrules: Maybe so, but did you check the not duplicate box? Im sure admin would like to…

  • Damn, if only it included Vic…

  • -2

Was gonna vote positive, but excluding people based on postcode is dodgy.

    • Well, it is a QLD VIP pass.

      • -4

So one price for the 'locals', and the tourists can pay full price? Nice.

        • +1

maybe it needs a neutral vote, negative is a bit harsh. It is a good deal but only if you are local or technically "Queensland residents and residents of northern New South Wales postcodes 2450 - 2490"

          • -1

@SilentH: Well I didn't actually vote negative. Don't understand why you're all voting me down. If I want to travel to QLD and use this pass, it'd still be cheaper than buying 3x entires to three parks…so why can't I buy this?

            • @[Deactivated]: Cause they would be making their money on people returning multiple times throughout the year, and spending money on overpriced food/drinks etc. If your not a local, ur not likely to return.

Maybe the deal title should be changed to 'Qld Only'.

I picked my pass up last weekend and when i signed for it it stated the block out holiday period. The email only came through within the past couple of days about the holiday period block out being lifted.

I find this deal totally discriminatory to the rest of the holidaying public who go to the Gold Coast. Other businesses don't jack up my prices for out of towners?

    • -2

you do realise that this isn't the -only- bargain that has only been available to one state..

      • +1

Actually it's the first bargain I've seen that actively discriminates.

Sure, lots of Sydney only deals. But I've never seen one that verifies if you're a Sydney resident to get one price, while QLD residents get the top dollar price. I'm sure you'd all be fine with that…

Even attractions in our town do local deals… most places do.

    • +1

It makes sense for them to have a price for locals, almost all places do it.

  • +1

The reason as to why the parks offer a discounted rates for local residents is simple.

Most of the out of towners and tourists can usually only visit the park in the peak periods of the year. Therefore to keep the parks running all year round they offer a discounted rate to the locals, whom of course live closer to the theme parks anyway.

This is common practice at many theme parks and attractions around the world, including Disneyland. (and they also have 'block out dates' as well.)

  • +2

This is not a new thing. All the GC theme parks do these sort of specials with the post code restrictions, i would presume other attractions in Aus would be the same. Maybe they can offset the price of the ticket for the locals because they will come more frequently and hopefully buy food or merchandise each time they come. I'd feel ripped off as well if i didn't live in Qld.

  • +1

Everybody knows about this, i can't believe someone's just posting this now. It's all over the TV in Qld. Same with the FUN REVOLUTION code.

Still, it's a great deal regardless.

    • +1

Not really, I hadnt seen it on TV - not everyone watches it.
I found it in my emails.

    • I think you'll find the difference between what you saw on tv and this submission, is the coupon code. Was that on TV? I could be wrong but I would also believe this is valid in the summer holidays while the mainstream one isn't.

  • +1

Its a pity that this doesn't include DreamWorld - that would be really great value…

  • +2

Dreamworld is owned by a different company. I got my pass for this when it was in June, so it was valid for a whole year. I also got the Dreamworld/Whitewater World Pass. So Movie World, Sea World, Wet n' Wild World, Dreamworld, White Water World for a whole year all for $200. Me and my brother were stoked, already been enough times to cover the costs a few times over :)

  • dreamworld is run by macquarie and are seperate to WB villages. i actually went to movieworld today. kinda packed even for a normal day

    • All us Mexicans up there for our Melbourne cup long weekend. The public holiday is today but a lot of people also take the Monday off to make it a 4 day weekend.
