Don't forget, not on the shelf? You can get a raincheck from woolies for 12 months!!!

  • I picked up one of these last year for my Grandmother but all she did was complain about how horrible it felt to use. Having used several electric toothbrushes myself over the years I couldn't really understand her complaint until I tried one myself. The sonic action really feels terribly unconfortable to me as well. I realize that it probably results in a better clean but I'm not sure that it's so much better that it's worth the discomfort. Perhaps you could get used to it, and perhaps it wont bother everyone, but my own C200 is packed away in its box in a cupboard at the moment.

  • I love this toothbrush and I purchased it from Target for $80 at Christmas. It gives an amazing clean but I can't compare it to other electric toothbrushes.

I was using an oral b electric toothbrush when the Colgate one went on sale at 1/2 price with a money back guarantee so I tried it.

Cleaning was about the same as oral b, both left my teeth feeling really clean. However the Colgate would do the normal 30sec quarters and once it reached 2 mins it would shut off, whereas the oral b just keeps going.

I brush for longer than 2 mins so got my money back from Colgate.

    • yeah.. just watched and read some pieces on this product. the 2minute timer sort of raised my eyebrows, got me thinking why that function is even there in the first place. havn't come across information on whether you can disable it.

      • Because the recommended time for brushing your teeth is 2 minutes. (It even says so in your Oral B user manual).

Therefore, both the colgate and oral B professional toothbrushes are designed to do a special vibration every 30 seconds. The difference is, the colgate one shuts at 2mins, while oral B doesn't.

(Why 30secs? 30sec for outer lower jaw, 30sec for inner lower jaw, 30sec for outer upper jaw, 30sec for inner upper jaw. This adds up to 2 mins.)

  • For those complaining about this and think it's the sonic action… I bought the higher end model (the A1500) and hated it, but I love my other sonic toothbrush from their competitor.

This one I found was too traumatic (even with the 'sensitive' head), and I'm used to sonic brushes.

  • Tried to buy today, back to full price instore and online.
