I know I'm going to sound like a sock puppeteer, but I'm just a genuinely appreciative customer of MIR-AUS's.

I have bought 4 or so CISSs from them, and received great pre and post-sales advice from them.

    Highly recommended

    • Good recommendation… just bought my first CISS from this deal. I hope it's worth the messing around to install!

    • Well, unfortunately based on my experience I'm going to have to disagree with you shmahoo. I've had some problems and have had no response from MIR-AUS at all.

I bought one of these (from this deal) for my Canon MX726 and two weeks after installation the ink has left some of the tubes (black and yellow). I emailed them a week ago to ask how to get the ink back in these tubes so I can use my printer and no response. I sent a follow up email half way through the week and still no response. Am very disappointed in this service.

Separately, the product does not seem to be well suited to these Canon printers. Not only have I got the problem above, but they suggest running the ink tubes under the scanner lid. This stops the lid from closing properly. At first I thought this was a minor inconvenience, but when I use the scanner it results in scanning errors near the top of the page. As soon as I take the tubes out and allow the lid to go flat again the scanner goes back to normal.

Because of the scanning problem I ran the tubes out the front (through the gaping hole in my printer the CISS modifications make) and around the side. This stops the paper output tray folding up properly.

If MIR-AUS could resolve at least the ink problem so I could actually use my printer and CISS then I would be happy. But as it is I've had no response whatsoever and am very disappointed and could not recommend them nor their product.

Edit: Not that it matters now, but revoked my +ve vote for this deal as a result of the above.

I just want to put in an update. Before I posted this I sent a second reminder email (third email). Coincidentally (or perhaps not) I got a response nearly immediately. A few vague emails later and we switched to phone support.

The phone support was very helpful. I probably spent an hour on the phone getting the ink back in the tubes, which required, among other things, re-priming the cartridges with a syringe (which I had to go out and buy). So far the ink has stayed in the tubes this time so I am hoping that problem is sorted.

The phone support was very patient and helpful. I am still not 100% convinced about the product being suitable for this printer, but at least now I can use it.

        • hey - good on you for taking the time to make this post - really appreciated by me coz this is the service I have been used to with this business.

I hope it continues to work well for you!

  • Damn .. need one for a Dell! /:

  • I bought bottles of ink and a CISS System from someone else, it failed not very long after installation, years ago. I wonder if I should give it another go. any recommendation on what printer to use? Still got lots of ink

    • there's a possibility that ink can "expire", but the REP might be able to share their opinion on this

    • Shall I know midel of your printer?

Not to comment on MIR CISS systems as I have no experience, but I did buy a RIHAC CISS for a brother inkjet. Whilst initially it was great, I did not print frequently in colour, and gradually if you don't print often enough, the inks block the printhead and no matter how many times you try to do a printer head clean, it does not fix it.

In the end I've replaced it with a colour laser printer. The great thing is that even with infrequent use, toner does not go bad, and there are no printheads to block.

Add to that the Fuji Xerox one I bought has just had a first toner change and it seems to be working as well with a generic toner as an original (I know there are some horror stories of generic toner working really poorly with some laser printers). It will work out much more cost-efficient than an inkjet and CISS.

    • I have had awful luck/experiences with CISS while I want the concept to work I've lost more money on blocked printers and useless ink tanks, I genuinely wish those who buy this the best of luck.

      • You guys have me concerned now… I hope it works ok! I guess moral of the story is to make sure you put at least some ink through (e.g. with a clean or colour print job) every few weeks or so?

        • Blocked printers is depend on ink quality and expiry. (Ink shelf life time is ~1.5 years)
high quality ink must start to work after one head clean same as original cartridges.

        • Very aware of this and printed everyday until the eventual block which occurred in weeks. My honest experience was to not by ink from the seller of the CISS and by high quality ones from elsewhere.

    • I noticed that multi function colour laser printers are much more expensive than colour laser printers.

  • I'm a light printer, so haven't ever bought a ciss, but if you're considering buying a single set of 'genuine' cartridges, you'll find one of these systems only cost a few bucks more.

    • For example: Epson original cartridges use 6-8 ml ink and cost is ~$18 -~25.00 depend on printer model
ink bottle for CISS or refillable ink cartridges cost $11.00 for 100 ml

  • Hi,

Do you sell CISS and Ink REfills for Epson NX430?

Is the second product in this list (CISS MBOX™ V.2) work with the above printer? It can't be added to the shopping cart.

Does the CISS come with pre-filled ink?

    Thanks
