  • No xbox 360 deals?

  • Lara croft and the temple of osiris gold edition seems good…

I remember buying it on the square store with a coupon for the game + DLC for $33… for $35 you get the gold edition with additional figurines and stuff.

hilarious, BF4 buy new $28… buy preowned $58.

    which should i get?

    • +1

Preowned obviously, since it's meant to be cheaper than new copies :P

      • +4

and with macca's smell on the box, if you are lucky the disc too…

    • Get the Pre-own. That disc it practically a veteran.

    • Oops

  • +2

Wow, sale prices? these guys are just pricing themselves out of existence… Move along, nothing to see here

    • +2

people keep saying that, EB are still in business, move along with your EB hate as well….

      • dont understand how you can dispute the fact that they are rarely competitive with other retailers. And anything online has them beat hands down. They may be ok for second hand but unless you really want a warranty id go gumtree or ebay, especially for games.

        • if you don't understand how I can dispute your comment, how come EB are still in business, funding their own Expo each year? They are funding themselves out of existence remember….

        • -2

@Tal_Shiar: ok… Lets meet back here on this post - hopefully its archived - in exactly 10 years. They will have either changed their model to online or will have folded. The days of relying on prime locations in large malls coupled with people with high levels of disposable income are numbered

See you in a decade man!

        • @pointless comment:

Wow 10 years. Such confidence ….

        • A rather pointless couple of comments (touche'?) EB isn't often my first choice, but they price match to stay competitive and occasionally have worthwhile sales. Sadly, with our current dollar I've gotten a few things from EB (and JB, etc) in the past few months for less than online options.

        • With price match they are.

        • -1

          @pointless comment:
Thats a stupid argument, with the rise of digital gaming they will go out of business due to no one buying physical games anymore, not because of their own business decisions.

        • @KorupTx: i dont support companies which require you to haggle, and plainly rip of those who dont

        • and yeah thats what i meant - if they dont move online business model with digital codes as well as physical copies etc then they will fail, you are actually agreegin with me man!

        • +1

@Scipio: haha … Then youre doing it wrong

        • +1

          @pointless comment:

Ridiculous comment. You could literally say that about almost every retail chain in existence here in Australia. The face of retail is changing. Hell, even Coles and Woolworths are pushing their web-based stores hard now. The argument is of the here and now and the simple fact that you need to resort to what every adult person knows is beginning to happen demonstrates that you have no legitimate argument.

Of course, its going to happen to video game stores a lot quicker than other retail outlets but eventually those not dealing in digital goods will begin to fail.

Take a look around most local areas. How many office/shop fronts have become deserted over the past couple of years? They just can't compete against online retailers. It doesn't really matter what industry is involved either. If I can purchase two pairs of shoes from East Bay for the price I can obtain them from Foot Locker (or any other shoe store) of course I'm going to go there.

        • +2

@pointless comment: Ten years is a long time. Most retailers will likely go through large changes over the course of a decade so I can't imagine anyone will dispute that EB Games will also go through changes of their own. We live in the here and now but and as a company they seem to be doing ok. They have stores all over the country and despite efforts in the past decade, companies such as Game have tried to compete with them and failed.

If their margins are massive on each sale then all that means is they are in a strong position to respond if they ever do need to drop prices. I'm sure they have some fairly credible accountants and they can determine an idea profit to price ratio that works for them. Doesn't hurt that the second hand market they strongly push is very lucrative for them and doesn't have a lot of local competitors.

In any event, EB Games often isn't the cheapest, but at times they can be. Other times maybe JB or maybe Big W will be cheaper. I'm guessing those sorts of differences is why a lot of people are visiting this very site. You'd be hard pressed to argue though that the competition has done anywhere near as good job of securing exclusive content for their purchasers. JB Sometimes has the limited editions in stock too, but generally EB is the first place to look if you have any interest in getting special/limited releases with the exception perhaps of digital stores for digital bonus content. Say what you will on the practice of store specific editions, but EB games does have a bit of a foot hold on it for the local market.

        • +1

@Smigit: yeh mate i guess you are right. I just casual game so don't care about the exclusive dolls and toys and dlc that come with ltd editons etc. i just go for cheapest price…. Havent bought anything from EB fo about 5 years. Also you other guys need to relax a bit… The ten year thing was clearly a joke…

        • @pointless comment: Appologies if I came on too strong above.

Certainly if you don't go for exclusives and the like, there's more likely than not going to be a cheaper option elsewhere. If you don't need a game day one, then online is often better still. Personally I do shop at EB, but I'll make sure I check elsewhere too. That said, I feel that as a store EB Games has improved somewhat in the past few years. I can't quite put a finger on what, but I'm more inclined to give them a go. You do still get the spastic cases as mentioned already here where a second hand title cost more than a new one though.

I'm sure its where the entire industry will go given PC games largely went that way already, but I've found that about 75% of my Xbox One titles are now digital as opposed to physical, where I don't think I purchased too many 360 games at all digitally where I had the option to go physical.

        • @pointless comment: Actually, I'm doing it right. Eyes open all the time and not shuttered as yours appear to be. ;)

    • +1

      Ac4 for $28.. Bargain.

      • +1

Yu can get digital copy of BF AND unity for rough same price on ebay or gumtree mate!

        • I don't want a digital copy. I don't want to deal with Gumtree scams. I don't want to wait for eBay postage. This is a brand new copy

no point hating on engames when they have the best priced physical game in the country with convenient pickup locations.

        • @custom: was just letting you know in case it suited you, sorry about that

        • Got a source? Would like to grab unity for that price. Just had a quick look on ebay and the bundle seems to be for xb1? I have ps4 :(

        • @Agret: on gumtree and ebay

      relevant username/10

      • -4

Aimed at me? If so i must have really struck a nerve for you to bust out your 4th comment in 3 years…guess you work for EB or something…Sorry dude.

        • didn't think you'd take it so seriously, just saw your username and thought it would be a missed opportunity if i didn't comment

        • @HazElMagic: haha all good mate, just saw u dont comment much round here so thought id give it back to ya :)

  • +4

Is it just me but after buying a lot of clearance games for $10-$15 from Big W and Kmart, $28 seems expensive?

    • +1

Depends on the game I suppose. EB often has stocks of games that are sold out everywhere else.

      • +1

True, luckily I've been able to snag some of the better games over the years eg Final Fantasys, CoDs, Kingdom Hearts, Fables, Ninja Gaiden 3 etc etc.

    • +1

I'm a PC guy myself, so $10-15 seems expensive to me after being spoilt by Steam sales.

      • +1

And Origin… let's not leave them out of this.

        • +2

ESPECIALLY Origin. Out of the 15ish games I've got on there, I've only paid for maybe 3. The rest have been freebies due to promos… or general EA e-commerce stuff-ups.

        • @johnno07: I got the origin humble bundle and the popcap games humble bundle and the C&C complete collection on sale on Origin for $10. That's a huge chunk of games right there. I got SimCity free winning a contest and then as an apology for the downtime at launch they gave me Dead Space 2. Got a bunch of free games from their "on the house" too. Origin is pretty awesome :)

  • +6

    no WiiU deals? :(

  • If I was thinking of BF4 or Garden Warfare. What are they? I would pick Garden Warfare over BF4.

    • +1

um, no you wouldn't if you know what to expect. I'm on about 200 hours on BF4 and it's not even the best BF game. They are entirely addictive.

BF4 is open world type of multiplayer. Way more strategy involved than your average FPS. Takes hours to learn a map. Like 20 or so before you feel like you know what's going on, but every minute is entertaining.

Garden Warefare is light entertainment FPS. Perfectly fine, but like 10 hours of entertainment maybe.

    • +1

BF4 has more replay but on the other hand PVZ was completely free for PS4 for like a weekend so I didn't have to pay anything for that. I would say BF4 is better for longer sessions but PVZ can be okay if you just want to play one game of something. I wouldn't pay more than $15-20 for PVZ though.

  • Watch Dogs on all consoles, $35.

  • +2

XCOM Enemy Unknown Complete Edition PC is a steal for $18 (also includes the expansion).

For those you have a vita (I know, not many) you can add this to the list

    Arcana Heart 3: Love Max - $28
    Natural Doctrine - $28
Tales of Hearts - $46 (Ok price, cheapest i can find)
    Disgaea 4 - $28 (I bought this for 42 a week ago FFFFUUUU…
    Danganronpa 2 - $28 (incredibly good price)

    • +1

yeah sweet price for danganronpa 2, was about to buy it yesterday for $38 from canada or $45ish from JB.

    • +1

Tales of Heats is a good price actually, doubt it will get much cheaper or will get scarce by that time.

      Probably will buy it.

      • yeah at the time i bought it for retail D: i also bought danganronpa for full price too..:/
i ended up picking up arcana and natural doctrine :3
ull have fun with tales :3

  • WTF PS4 camera is $18? I paid $99 for it. That's a good deal!

    • +1

      Camera CLIP* :(

      • You're right, I didn't look at that. Updating it now, cheers :)

    • +1

Seems to be the stand… not the camera… I was jumping on to get it at that price too! :(

  • +3

It's not on their website but I picked up NBA 2K13 preowned on Wii U today from EB for $4 as part of this sale.

    • It's 8 new at my K-Mart. Didn't pay 8 then, wouldn't pay 4 now.

  • +2

Lucky I got Plants vs. Zombies for free.

    • -5

Bringing up previous giveaways (EA/PSN I assume?) aren't really relevent to sale threads that happen months later and makes you appear to be just trying to gloat.

      • +1

To assume that I am gloating is somewhat of an exaggeration. This post merely reminded me how I was lucky to get it for free and it may encourage other people to deter away from this buying it, for the hope it could possibly become free again.

Anyway, Black Flag is also available for the same price of $28 on the PS3, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

        • Black Flag any good? I just beat Unity the other day, rather enjoyed it despite the plethora of 'meh' reviews it got (and to be fair it did have a 6gb patch, must have been a buggy mess at launch) and am still in the mood for some more AC :)

        • +1

@Puff Braddy: BF better than unity mate, i reckon most would agree. And I liked unity too

        • @pointless comment:
Thanks mate. Might have to check it out at this price.

  • +1

Holy motherf'ing sh!t… that price for Watch Dogs DedSec. That cost me $150 on release. That price is just amazing!

    • +1

Just gimmick I reckon. I am sure they would have extremely limited stock somewhere. You need to have luck and take efforts to get them. $28 is a bargain even without the game disk.

      • You're totally right! I didn't see it was In Store Only. Then I wish the best of luck to anyone that even has a slim chance of finding one.

  • Kid Icarus reports anywhere????

    • +2

Great game try and get it if you can find it.

      • Well the controls turned me off originally, but its a collectors item now.

And it's also an almost new ip after so much time between games. Hopefully theres an Wii U port with the original HD assets I assume they started with.

    • +1

Although there's no "Find in store" button, try this:
      https://ebgames.com.au/stores/find-stock/150952

      • +1

Keep in mind, that's just the computer records of available stock. They can be wrong - eg. I rang up Frankston Town to see if they had any Kid Icarus stock (which is still on the list funnily enough) and they had nothing.

  • +1

Northcote (North Melbourne,VIC) is selling PS3 games as cheap as 8… I bought Uncharted 1-3, GOW 3 and GT5 for 52. Plenty of xbox360 games available as well.

  • WiiU Batman Arkham Origins at 18 seems to be the cheapest around.

Most of those ports from the WiiUs first 12 months seem to be 12s; Mass Effect, Ass Creed, Splinter Cell etc

  • Hey Guys,

Just a quick comment to advise that the games I ordered arrived today & they were clearly used and damaged items, not new games at all.

Both games were already opened, no sticker over the case, were missing the instruction book / guide things and had the online game activation codes missing as well. Not only that, the discs were damaged, quite scratched and had finger marks all over them. It would have been obvious to anyone that this was a used or damaged item well before it was picked & packaged for delivery.

I've contacted EB requesting an exchange or a refund, but they still haven't replied yet.
