LG 22" Class Full HD LED Monitor $98 (or $93 with $5 Signup Credit) @ Harvey Norman

If theearth says it's a bargain, I won't argue with him. Seems like awesome value for a brand name monitor.

Edit: From the user comments and photos below, it appears this particular model may have a HDMI port.

I know I should be grateful for the previous $5 off codes I have received. But the last 2 email address I signed up with have both not received a code. Anybody else experienced similar issues?

    • +1

Yep, me. Tried mine, 15 minutes ago, still nada. Tried my wife's, from different source IP, still nada.

    • ditto. as far as I recall I have not previously signed up for the code

Maybe they know your IP by now? Static or dynamic?

  • What if I'm a sort of class half empty kind of person?

  • @theearth doesn't post on OzB anymore? I thought he came back after the drama few years back. :P

Nice monitor, but I had to dig around a bit to find it doesn't have HDMI:-/ DVI and Analogue only - not really a biggy, but for this size I'd be looking for one to transport with the laptop, and it's one more cable to fiddle with for sound.

    • Although if you look at the image of the rear of the monitor on the HN site, just above the DVI port, it looks like something shaped as a HDMI port … ?

    • Yeah on the back it seems to have a HDMI in?

      • Defintely looks like HDMI

The difference between 'standard' and 'B' version?

        • The only "B" listing i could find was a Chinese site:

          http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-deta…

          No HDMI :-(.

It's still a bargain, not really a biggy as it hasn't got speakers anyway, but throw $7 on for an MSY HDMI to DVI cable …

        • @terrys:
The LG AU site for this exact model has a user manual, granted the manual does not specifically state -B however i'm certain you'll find if you head into store to check, as per manual, only VGA and DVI.

        • @terrys:
So HN have used the wrong photo?

        • @BTRaynes:

Either that, or LG have :-) It could also be that it is a slight variant, but the HDMI monitors are usually up around the $170 mark, with the VGA/DVI sitting on the $130-150 level - still, as long as your not planning on buying a HDMI -> DVI cable from somewhere silly like HN, its still a good little deal even if it doesn't. It is a nice sound for a monitor for a media player tho if you are using Youtube and the like for the audio catalogue.

The main advantage of HDMI is no need for a seperate sound cable, and as this monitor doesn't have speakers…

Even the model just up from the this, the LG 22EN43T-B doesn't have a HDMI port so the chances of this having one are zero.

Still a decent price for a good brand monitor with 3yrs warranty.

  • +3

Yeah, I'm definately a 'must have HDMI' guy.

But on the plus side, LG monitors are usually VERY power efficient! Only 25W for this!

  • +1

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like this monitor uses a power brick rather than the PSU being built into the monitor.

    • +3

      Yep, 19.2 V 1.2 amp power brick or wall-wart.

Seems like awesome value for a brand name monitor.

but is it good value compared to no-name brand monitors?
I've been using a no-name brand monitor for about 10 years and have had no problems with it.

    • +2

Aw, c'mon, give the poor thing a name. If you don't, I will :p

    • What about Kogan monitors / TVs? Is this better value than lets say a 32" TV (used as a monitor) for $249?

  • -1

not a bad deal at all but how come only pickup in caringbah?

  • H-N seem tonbe dumping old gear… again.

How is LG quality (build & image/speed), in this product/price class?

  • Nice long warranty period.

  • Thanks for posting this TA. Now all I need is a decent mouse and keyboard Combo bargain. =)

    • +3

While some might not class them as decent, Microsoft just had 40% cashback on selected KB/M combos to the point where some people were almost getting the stuff for free.

      • Thanks jonesy. I saw some of those delay posted last week. Might check them out to see if it's not expired yet.

  • OzBargained :(
