It's the cheapest by $100 according to staticice.
It comes with 3 year warranty.
The 2TB internal HDD should be worth at least $100 if sold separately. I am not sure if it can be disassembled.

Only 4-port, so I still recommend the 8-port version for $38, plus an external hard drive.

Less chance of heat problems too (or does the 2TB version have a fan?)
These are both long discontinued models, so don't expect so see a meaningful price comparison in staticice etc.
Very dishonest of Kogan (as usual) listing such an outdated RRP.
yeah these are actually quite decent
msy had them for as low as $19 and the 7 port switch is worth that let alone the dual band wireless
wdc must have made heaps of them if they're still in channel
Couple of reviews stating the write speed is around 30-35MB/s which is fantastic for a router CPU to be able to handle.
I should have got one of these over my NAS, I don't need all the fancy options - just a way to access my external drives over the network and faster than 10MB/s.
This would use less power also.
Is that small B or big B?
Big B.
I've got a couple but the big issue is WD don't support them anymore and there are a number of known issues particularly with the media capability but more importantly with basic functions such as DNS.
In regards to basic stability I recently called WD Level 2 tech support and they told me they will NOT be updating the firmware or investigating issues so buying one of these now (unless you plan to pull out the hard drive) is NOT a good idea. The 7 port units I have lock up roughly every 1-5 days when the DNS server craps out and also experience slowdowns prior to that happening (I believe its the media server process going out of control which runs even if your not using it). Pretty disappointed with WD on these otherwise conceptually good units and pretty confused why Kogan would be selling products that are discontinued and not supported!
A. they have stock
B. people dont know they are discontinued, nor do they care, nor would they ever update firmware
I dare say there would be a lot of people out there like lemmings resetting their routers daily after they crash because they think thats just how routers work.
Sounds like buying a headache to me. Thanks for the heads up.
I'm still on WRT54GLs and you know what they're rock solid. Only reason I want to upgrade is the neighbourhood's become congested and I've had to go to different channels from time to time. 90% of my devices are 54Mbps so I'll wait a little longer before replacing them.
Bought the one without the HDD during the msy sale the Christmas couple of years ago. The wireless is really flaky. Half the time I have to reconnect to it, the other half the time I have to reset the thing.
I had some problems, until switching the modem to bridge mode and the router has been rock-solid ever since. It may have been over-loading the old modem/router memory, or somehow didn't like the double-NAT.
Looks good on paper. Router is a pile of junk. Stay away.
For those wondering: It's Gigabit
