  • fml, just ordered some wine there yesterday

  • Any specific deals you'd recommend with this code?

If you like quality sparkling try the Porta Dante Prosecco. While the offer excludes champagnes it works for Prosecco. The Porta Dante has a fine bead, excellent mousse and a crisp, moderately dry palate. Nice :-) !! With shipping (a steep $16 for the two case dozen) and applying the discount, the Porta Dante at about $8.60 a bottle is a delicious alternative to low end champagne at about a quarter of the price.

  • Thanks fmckenzie. We really liked the 2007 Veronique Shiraz in a Winemarket mixed case bought with a $50 off deal before Christmas - so grabbed the last dozen for $90 delivered.

  • I'm a cheapo so got the big bad reds and big bad mixed dozens.

$130 minus $50 coupon minus $25 gift certificate + postage makes these $2.60 per bottle.

    • minus $25 gift certificate

      please explain.

      • +21

        phoenix0 had a gift certificate worth $25

        • Haha. Pretty much sums that up.

Voucher is from an incorrect order I received from the company last year. The order wasn't able to be corrected as whatever the particular wine was had sold out but I received the voucher instead.

  • Thanks OP. Also got the big bad reds.

  • Wish I had the gift cert too!

  • They are turning into Cellarmasters, but the wine is decent and so cheap its hard to complain.

    I suggest http://www.winemarket.com.au/All-Occasions-Mix
plus a 6-pack of whatever you like.

Full case of Tatachilla @ $70 is a good deal

    Thanks OP

    Colesworth take note.

Wine Market is an offshoot of Cellarmasters, both owned by Woolworths, just like Dan Murphy, BWS, Langtons…

      • -1

Not an offshoot. They just got made an offer they couldn't refuse.

        • Wine Market was started by Cellarmasters back in 2008 to move small quantity leftovers from Cellarmasters and other Woolies brands. It still does that to some extent, but has changed strategy over the years.

My subscribers have had free freight there since they started, due to an arrangement with the Cellarmasters then Chief Group Buyer.

        • Sorry. So much shuffling around of brands and businesses in the liquor industry I got confused.
Woolies bought them all for $340m back in 2011.

  • can anyone advise which red wine can store for let say 10 years? thanks

    • -1

I'd suggest a really foul-tasting sugary one would stand the best chance in my home.
Its not the Middle Ages any more. Wines don't need ageing to be palatable.
A few years will benefit some, especially if you enjoy the 'mouldy' flavour, but ten?

thank you for the heads up

The "better" reds will mature significantly over a decade - in the right conditions. Even (some) middle of the road reds will taste like a different (much better) wine if left to mature for half a dozen+ years. Plenty of info on google if you're really interested.

Prices on this site change rapidly.

A few days ago, they were doing Wynns Coonawarra Shiraz 2013 dozen for $142 delivered free.

Now conveniently it has risen up to $192; The coupon interestingly brings it back to $142.

    Just purchased this Pinot again

    http://www.winemarket.com.au/double-cove-marlborough-pinot-n…

    $120 pre coupon

    $78 after coupon with shipping

    • Yeah they jacked up the wine I was after too, bit underhanded.

  • Got six bottles of pepperjack Shiraz for 80 delivered. These are 120 at dan murphy

  • +2

Can anyone recommend a very buttery chardonnay that they might have?

  • Pepperjack Barossa Shiraz 2013 http://www.winemarket.com.au/Pepperjack-Barossa-Shiraz-2013-…

PEPPERJACK BAROSSA CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2012 http://www.winemarket.com.au/pepperjack-barossa-cabernet-sau…

    Both are $123 + $8 (sydney) = 131

After discount $81.01… this translates into $13.5 a bottle… bargain for a reasonable red… some might doubt my taste… but can't go wrong with 90+ points from James Halliday.

I snoozed for 10 mins and the 2012 shiraz were sold out.

  • Can anyone recommend a decent white and red for $10/bottle max?

Looking to stock up on my upcoming wedding

  • Ahhhh, Every time I go there OOS.

  • Thanks OP! I've been waiting for another wine market sale. Ran out of wine from the last sale a few weeks ago and am starting to get a bit sick of The Duck's beer. 2 cases of red for $88 delivered, can't complain about that!

  • +1

Recommend getting the mystery 2007 shiraz. It's the Mitolo Savitar which is their flagship. Normally $80 at cellar door, and being 2007 it's great right now. Works out to be around 30ea.

My personal tasting notes: classic shiraz spice but with aged mellowness, slightly on the sweeter side, very dark ruby in colour and sticks to your wine glass. No ethenol bite either. Probably not worth 80ea but for 30 it's a good deal.

  • 1 voucher per household or per person?

Bought the Killer Pinot Noir Mixed Pack for $ 70 after the $ 50 discount. Some very decent drops for under $ 6 per bottle for Pinot?

    Run, don't walk!

  • I think it has expired, not accepting code.

    • Just worked for me, still valid

  • +1

    Great deal: http://www.winemarket.com.au/All-Killer-Pinot-Noir-Mix
Just $70 for 12 bottles of very good quality pinot noir delivered ($5.83 per bottle)

    • +1

Yup, looked over 90% of the site and couldn't find anything that beats this for value - plus if you're anything like me you've already got waaaaaaaaay too much Shiraz in your 'cellar' and so a lil Pinot adds a nice change of pace and will work a lot better with homecooked Thai Peppercorn Beef!

Thanks OP, ordered one of the above.

      • Lol, too much shiraz in your cellar, know the feeling ;-)

        Heirloom pinot is a win.

In regards to lighter and sweeter shiraz, try their popular (and fairly cheap) Malindi Clare Valley Shiraz. I have had Rose's bolder than it! Poor reviews on there because as a shiraz it's too light, but don't be swayed.

$79 right now… Order with another case to utilise the $50 voucher.

        http://www.winemarket.com.au/malindi-shiraz-doz

        • @kickling, thanks for the recommendation - I actually have 4 or so of those Malindi Clare Valley Shiraz's in my 'cellar' due to several earlier orders from WM. So thats good to know as I'm gunshy to pair them with a lot of the Asian cuisine I make fearing they might be too bold/brassy….but that Malindi sounds about right.

          Appreciate the tip.

        • @Nikko:

          You're welcome.

Remember, food (and drink) should be personally enjoyed. Just because someone has set the trend to have white wine with seafood or red wine with lamb shanks doesn't mean it's right. Eat something you find delicious and drink something you really enjoy and you really can't go wrong. You'll be winning on both fronts, all the time. Cheers.

  • Thanks. We had a couple of low cost mixed cases from Winemarket last year. There was just one bottle (red) among the 24 that we didn't like.

The mixed lots are excellent in the sense that most you've never heard of so would probably never buy. And they ain't too bad. Certainly good enough for a bunch of drunks around a BBQ on the back porch.

Just ordered more using the posted voucher.
    Delivery charges aren't bad either.
