Looking for a bargain-priced full HD screen laptop/notebook

I want a Windows laptop/notebook computer with a full HD screen and a normal keyboard. However, I don't want to spend much for it.

I quite like the prices on the 1366x768 display units that have been posted here lately, but I need more pixels, and I know I'm not very likely to get them in that price range.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

  • This is surprisingly tough… hard to find a budget laptop with a Full HD display. You may have to look at brands that let you customize your own laptop. Here's the cheapest I could make, but I'm sure there are cheaper pre-built ones around:

Lenovo ThinkPad E550 $744.28 with Full HD display (all parts customisable for extra)
Processor: Intel Core i3-4005U Processor (3MB Cache, 1.70GHz)
    Operating System: Windows 8.1 64
    Display: 15.6" FHD (1920 x 1080), Anti-Glare
Camera: 720p HD Camera with MIC
    Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 4400
    Memory: 4GB PC3-12800 DDR3L
Hard Drive: 500GB Hard Disk Drive, 7200rpm, 2.5"
Optical Drive: DVD Recordable 8x Max Dual Layer
    Battery: 6 cell Li-Ion Battery 48WH - 75+
Wireless: Intel Dual Band Wireless 3160 AC, Bluetooth Version 4.0

    • Thanks, M0RGAN - I'll need to go see one of these somewhere, the keyboard looks like it might be "chiclet" style.

A few months ago I bought a Dell Inspiron 15 5000. 15inch FHD touch screen, 8gb ram, 1tb hybrid drive, 2gb video, i7 etc. from the Dell Outlet store. Cost me $699.

Took 2 days to arrive and was in the original box and looked and works just like new. Brand new model is $1400.
You just need to check the Dell Outlet every day and one will pop in within the week.

Forgot about Dell Outlet. Excellent value if you're willing to buy refurbished and the warranty is nice. May take a while to get the specs and price you want, but definitely better than a ThinkPad.
