I picked this up from Masters yesterday:
    https://www.masters.com.au/product/101206067/wesco-18v-lithi…
Only 1 year warranty, but better value especially considering all the drill bits and heads that come with it.

Not sure why your comment got negged. I got that Wesco drill myself (unboxed version) and its seems fine, especially as the nearest 18v competition was close to $200. I only need to use it a few times a year.
This Hitachi is clearly good deal though

I probably deserve the neg: OzBargain breeds taste in quality - if you can't get the best at the cheapest price it doesn't count as a deal, irrespective of use.

As for you and I, we've found value in what we've purchased, and that's what matters in the end.

        • More like, if you can't get the cheapest it doesn't count as a deal. I've been on here long enough and to me it seems like price counts a lot more than quality.

I just bought the wesco 900w rotary hammer. It uses SDS bits (eg. Decent sized drill bits about 1m long). It can also be used as a jackhammer. $79 at Monsters. After a day of use, I can highly recommend this for the weekend warrior handyman. Great for drilling through concrete and double brick.
I should have gone for the dewalt, but price difference was too high :)

        • You must find it hard living up to your name!

Except that the Hitachi is well regarded as a high quality drill, and you've linked to a product that has overall user ratings on that very page of 2/5 stars…

Buying one Hitachi is cheaper than having to buy a second Wesco when the first one breaks.

  • For anyone wanting to use the 20$ off, the codes have been disabled for self scan on the auto check outs.

    • oh really? damn.
i guess only if oyu have the original?

      • Thats right. Spoke with someone who works there as i used a photocopy bar code. Said they disabled it to ensure anyone who uses the coupon had the original coupon.

  • This would be a great deal for $129. $149 is still a good deal if you need one.

    • i'd still try at the self scan :) hehe

They did indeed change it, at the normal checkout they have to enter a different x digit code (Manually & it states only upon producing the coupon) - it's on a post it note at our local store (Looks tacky and poorly written too) and the person stated it had been changed (No reason given).

It is odd after giving it away free in their own catalogue (Discontinued a few weeks ago for the new one) that there are now trying to avoid it with the numbers being out there.

The idea is to attract customers and get people to shop their isn't it?

+1 for the Green Lantern reference!

Voting UP as I already have a Drill Driver that uses the same batteries I bought from Amazon a few years back but the charger is 110V and needs a 240-110V Brick to use it. This deal will get me 2 more batteries, a charger that is native 240V and a spare drill driver. The charger alone here in AUS is around $110

Had to order online as no stock showing in ADL but used the 5% off voucher for signing up

    • I am in the same boat…Bought from Amazon a couple of years back when they also had the impact drill as a bundle. I don't know what I am going to do with an extra drill and the 2 batteries + 240v charger is tempting - still can't justify me buying another drill' so I'll have to stick to my step-up transformer to run the 110V charger. Good deal though!

  • This is a pretty good deal because Hitachi cordless tools are great stuff, especially if you're interested in expanding your range you can often get bare tools without battery or charger for pretty cheap on eBay or sometimes at Toolmart or other specialty stores.

  • Sign… as usual Masters in Adelaide airport doesn't have this in stock. This is the second time that i have went to get a deal that they don't have in stock and as i live remote there is not easy option to get it. Postage is $30 for this kit as well to rural areas…..and i needed a drill as well.
