    How many cable ties ?

    • +6

Well the chest is 1 piece, so that leaves enough quota for 193 glorious cable tie pieces.

      • Bottom and lid of chest = two pieces?

        • +2

You take it to the front counter and they smash it into 194 pieces.

      • +2

Plus the 2 drawers & 3 tool holder plastic inserts. So chest alone is 6 pieces ;-)

    • +3

There's also a $6 500 piece tool kit available - all cable ties & plastic packet.

    • Only 30 :-( Still, there are a few push pins, picture hooks and what could pass for wall plugs on a desperate day.

There are 6 left at Anzac Highway [Adelaide] on a trolley at the end of the aisle. they aren't marked up but scan and sell @ $12.

Yep, the product numbers on the shelf & ticket seem to match. Not a bad little kit, especially with the metal cabinet.

  • +8

Contemplating it for the chest alone lol

    • +1

so you are a boob man then ;)

      • +2

What can I say, I love a nice chest :P haha

  • bought one at pagewood eastgardens for $12, there is 1 left!!!!!!!

  • +1

190 bits ( screw driver heads, cheap torx bits and multiple of each bit )

  • +2

Was just looking at these, so though I better get the OzBargain opinions. Buying for the chest. A bit heavy to lug home on the bus.

Price comparison - the performer 23 piece socket set (included in this) is $10!!

    None left Sunnybank.

    • Only display one at Sunnybank Plaza, Brisbane at 3pm. Check bottom drawer for carton of tools.

    • None Garden City, Brisbane - too new a store for old stock :-(

  • 10 left at Airport West.

The plastic 101 pc kit people were saying may be a better option was also $12. 20 of those left at Airport West.

    • +1

Drawers are hard to slide, have hard molded plastic for their tools - can't be removed like metal one, but lighter than metal drawer unit.
10 left at Sunnybank Plaza, Brisbane.

Also (12) 77 piece General Tool Kit $12, (3) 110 piece tool kit in folding plastic storage $6. 130 piece Mechanic Tool Set $8 just left the building.

  • Ozbargained @ Munno Para. K-mart. All gone. :p

  • I expect these will start listing the combined atomic weight of all atoms included in the set. Cable tie count isn't quite hitting the big numbers that the buyers expect.

    • +2

I didn't check, but I think they missed the two plastic liners and the box itself….

      Yep, 65 nails, 10 screws, 5 picture hooks, 5 cup hooks, 10 wall plugs, 5 push tacks, one box for the previous, 3 small Philips screwdrivers, 2 small flat-head screwdrivers, 1 100 mm Philips #2, 1 100 mm 6 mm flat-head, 1 spirit level, 1 holden spanner [Daewoo grade], 1 measuring tape, 1 cutter, 20 screwdriver bits, 1 magnetic bit extension, 8 allen keys, 1 pair Linesman pliers, 1 pair needle-nose pliers, 9 x 1/4" drive sockets [4-13 mm], 9 x 3/8" drive sockets [8 - 17 mm], one 3/8 -> 1/4 adaptor, 1 3/8" drive 90 mm long ratchet handle,

Looks like the box counts as 1, but the liners, and the holders for the allen keys and screwdriver bits are gratis.

      • Thanks - saved me counting out of curiosity.

  • none on Mt Druitt NSW

Good Price: $2 per kg ;-)
    Tools 2kg
Chest approx 4kg (more than 3kg my scales read)

  • Bought this when it was $24 :(

Sadly I've opened it so can't return and rebuy for $12

    • +10

      Rebuy @$12, return with $24 receipt ;-)

      • Yeap.. what I'm doing with the rotary tool kit if it drops further in my area. ;)

      • I love you man! hahaha

    • Should've got a 28 Degrees CC.

      • +1

And pay extra all the time for buyer protection?

Returning my way is cheaper option & can be used after the price drops ;-)
Kmart are usually ok with returns, otherwise complain about poor quality of tools.

I paid by ING card with 5% rebate to save 60c!

        • +3

Buyer Protection is 0.5% of the closing balance. Pay off for CC before your statement is issued means there's no cost. It's a hassle but it's the OzB way.

And yes your return method is probably easier if you're close to the Kmart.

        • @sween64:
Had considered Buyer Protection, but forgot exactly how it works. My card is always paid off by direct debit - so it would be free. But in the years I've had the card, I would never had a claim on it - always have got lowest price & don't want to miss advantages of discount card like ING.

Thanks for the advice. Will look into adding it to 28degrees.

        • @brucefromaustralia:

The Merchadise Protection is also good. If your product is damaged or broken they'll pay for the repair, replacement or refund you the cost of the original item.

Buyer Protection is good for technology when you want the latest and greatest. Buy it now and six months later when the price has dropped you're refunded the difference.

        • @sween64:
I'm not a latest & greatest kind of guy, at least if I'm paying.
That's why I never saw any advantage in these add ons to a great card for overseas transactions & travel.

But good options for those with lifestyles to suit. I'd rather be saving my money for travelling ;-)

  • +1

there are around 10 left at kmart kurralta park SA

    • Thanks! Decent little chest. Surprised how cheap some of the tools were and with warranty.
I'm surprised no one has posted the little $10 12v air compressor.

      • Probably because Dick Smith have sold them for $5 in the past ;)

        • There were none of the chests on the shelf but still a few out near the layby counter. Unless that's someones hoard of ~10 they've put aside for themselves.

        • @Zegga: Bugger… Kmart staff sold the one I had put on hold to someone else.

  • Brisbane stores…
Cannon Hill at 7pm had 13 (marked $24, scans $12)
Also (12) 130 piece Mechanic Tool Set scans $8
    (12) 77 piece General Tool Kit $12,

Sunnybank Plaza at 3pm 1 display
Also (12) 77 piece General Tool Kit $12,
    (3) 110 piece tool kit in folding plastic storage $6.

  • Grabbed the last one at Kmart Mt Ommaney last night, was tucked away behind some other items, I was about to give up searching.

    • +1

      It's a big item to play hide-n-seek ;-)

      • +2

        That's what….no, can't do it.

  • Plenty at Australia fair (stacked in 2 spots). Marked $49 but scanned $12
Bought a 100 piece bit set for $3. They have some other sets 77 to 110 piece for 6 and 8 dollars.

  • +1

Loads of these at Garden City, WA. They are marked at $49, but scan at $12. There is a price checker scanner next to them. There are a range of other clearance tools availble also, including a rotary tool for $8:

    • +1

Why did you vote + then?
The full list was given 2 days ago by terrys. You were warned.

At $12, who cares. The tool chest alone is a bargain at that price. Lubed up the runners & works smoothly.

I'm very happy with it & have a use for what you consider bs. It's just a small bonus, but who's counting ;-)

  • Werribee Plaza VIC has none.
    :(

  • Indooroopilly QLD still has a few plus lots of the other styles. I just bought three different sets from there, chucked all the plastic cases & drawer liners out then put all tools back into the metal cabinet of the set in this deal. Everything fits well and makes for a $36 374 piece tool set with a few double & triple-ups but of course many of those pieces are cable ties etc.

  • Duplicate- sorry.

  • +1

Still plenty at Australia Fair. marked $49 but scanning $12.
Had to exchange mine- after I set it up, the drawers refused to open anymore.

Anyone know if any rotary tools available in SEQ?

  • Anyone know if this deal is still going on ? Melbourne VIC South-East area, couldn't find any at Burwood or Parkmore
