Order a Big Mac and Get a Small Fries + Small Soft Drink for Free (Jan 21 - March 3) @ McDonald's

3820

I've been using the Seven Sports App to watch live tennis. Great free app however they insert their own video ads. One of the video ads was Buy a Big Mac and receive a free small fries & free small soft drink. There is nothing in the ad that says how long this will last but my guess is that this deal will finish when the the Australian Open finishes (Feb 1). Only T&C is only applies after 10:30AM.

McDonald's doesn't have uniform pricing but according to the South Melbourne branch a Big Mac costs $5. Small fries are $1.95. A small drink is $2.35. Another location in Vic lists the Big Mac for $4.95, small Coke for $2.45, and a small fries for $1.

The deal isn't listed on their website but I'd assume there is signage in store. I took an out of focus video which you barely hear if you want proof an updated video. The screenshot is from the video. If I see it come on again, I'll see if I can record it properly. Updated Video using screen recorder.

        • @syousef:

We're not talking about taste or which you prefer. You could not produce French fries as cheaply or quickly as 2-4 tomatoes, 2 slices of cucumber and a small handful of salad mix.

        • @tomsco:

Seriously? If you don't want to cut up potato, have you ever heard of frozen chips? You can get a kilo for the price of a large fries.

Salad you can get pre-cut at coles or wollies but you'll get a lot less.

And of course we're talking about which taste you prefer. You don't go to a take away because you want to eat stuff that tastes bad.

        • @syousef:

In any case you'd KNOW that fries are Maccas most profitable item. Almost 100% markup!

        • @syousef:

Like for like. As I said, price and time to prep it.

We're not talking about price because you're not being objective. Of course you'll find a reason to say the product you prefer is better value.

That's all, I'm done with this. Have fun, bud.

        • @tomsco:

Fries: Turn on oven. Open large bag of your favourite cut of chips. Put on tray. Put in oven. Remove and turn off oven after 40 mins. Add salt and/or pepper if you prefer. Can be in the freezer for months.

Salad: Cut up lettuce, tomato, cucumber at a minimum. Time consuming. Perishable.

You're the one who's not being objective.

        • @syousef:

Plus, as small as garden salads are and even discounting the nutritional advantages, there's probably more to them than a small fries. But maybe I'm biased, because I hate the fries and feel sick after eating them, so…

Oops, just realised this was from ages ago. Ah well.

  • $6.75 for a large big mac meal is awesome :)

    • Do you live in NSW? I find it a bit hit a miss. A couple were cool with it another store said that it only applied to small combo. Unfortunately the one that refuses is my local I go to every day… Can I complain or are the stores individually managed so the upgrade thing is basically a choice.

      • Nope I'm in WA. But yeh the prices and whether they offer the upgrade varies from stores.

        • All the stores in NSW have been strict on the Big Mac only aspect of the deal. It seems other states can get Angus burgers, McOz, Mega Mac etc. etc. from what the OP put up.

  • Anyone celebrating valentine's day at macass ?

    • And 2 for 1 deals?
