  • Can't see how a cordless can be as powerful as corded. Battery wouldn't last long at all

    • It says the battery lasts 20s and recharges in 4s

can any women on ozbargain recommend this iron?

    cheers

    • This iron reduced my carbon tax

  • I brought earlier this month from DJ's for $109.95 delivered (its still on sale there).
Haven't had a chance to open up the box and try it yet… but it seemed promising!

  • I bought one of these but it was now where near as good as our corded Philips iron we had. It felt like it had no power at all. Ended up taking back and buying a steam station iron. (I am a bloke!)

  • This iron is fine with business shirts (on the hottest setting) - not sure about other items though, especially at a low heat where it doesn't do much! Holds a charge for about 90 seconds and then needs to be put back on the base for a couple of seconds to recharge (which is just enough time for you to move your shirt to the next position).

Funny how fashion cycles. Cordless irons were common 80 years ago :)

cordless electric weren't … no need for hot coals with this one! ; p

      • The ones I'm thinking of were the same principle. Warms up on the stove between ironing. Use two for continuous ironing.

The benefit of electricity was to allow constant heat.

  • these "cordless" irons do not have battery. It just relies on residue heat, hence the reference to 10-15s off the base before it gets too cool. Had one before, quite convenient for normal shirts ironing but definitely less strong.b

    • So no good if ironing a lot of shirts in a row

      • Well it would charge by the time you switched shirts :)

  • Probably uses more power to recharge the battery then to actually iron with a corded one?

  • I bought one of these last year from Good Guys sale. I love this iron. I usually iron once a week, a huge pile of clothes including kids. I would not go back to a corded again.
