No free dirt? Awww.
Brushed potatoes are with dirt as they have been brushed whereas washed potatoes are generally clean because they have been washed…..
Would you like me to breathe for you as well?
For the benefit of those who've never heard of them (I'm guessing that's most of us!) they're a WA chain.
Thanks, you saved me a step.
Now to calculate the cost of trailer hire + fuel from Sydney to Perth and back…
Don't forget to drop off all your empty bottle and cans in SA on the way over.
Great for when you need somewhat iffy veggies at 4am
If they had onions and garlic they could be my green grocer….
2014
Maybe change it to 2015, we know what you mean,
So you can just go in and grab as many potatoes as you want then leave? No limit/purchase required?
Limited to retail quantities, whatever that is.
On their opening I think it was 2 or 4kg per family in the free spud offer. Not sure if this will be the same.
I saw something on TV earlier where they said a 4kg bag.
Some ozb say wa always left out
I just saw on the news he has 1000 ton to give away. He can't 'sell' them due to Potato Board restrictions.
that's ridiculous. I didn't see any reason that potato market has to regulated.
just in case the irish potato famine scenario happens again ;)
Just curious is it just me that washes potatoes even though there been previously washed and brushed or do people just cook it straight away without washing it again? I wash basically every fruit and veg
Brushed still has the dirt on them so I peel and wash them.
Washed potatoes I just leave as is if boiling whole or peel and chop.I give it a quick rinse
Yep, and it makes sense, just like washing your hands before handling food. Who knows what pathogens the people who pack fruit and veg have on their hands?
C'mon everyone, let's cheer Mr Galati up a bit. Look at his sad face. http://i.imgur.com/t0LeSEU.jpg
I wonder if he realises that he's perpetuating a stereotype:
Guess I thought people would have common sense by now after going to supermarket for years!

Cheers to Tony and screw the cartel!
Wife just went there, one bag per family. Load as many as you can in the shopping bag.
Free dirt as well.
TV crew was there interviewing someone from Spudshed, one of the Galati perhaps?
Again, cheers to Tony!
Just went down to jandakot, all gone :(
Still none in Jandakot? can anyone update?
brushed potato means the potatoes without the dirty outer layer round it. they've been pre-brushed/washed
