  • Sigh… Ozgs about 30% too expensive before this discount…you do the maths

    • Any recommendations for alternatives? Looking to find a NDS game thats hard to find used (doesn't come up on ebay used often). (999 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors Game for reference) Don't care if used as long as complete and in decent shape.

Ozgameshop use to be good. What happened :(

    • +3

They added shipping costs and jacked up their prices on everything.

      • +2

They added shipping costs, and increased their prices. Our dollar dropping like a rock is partly to blame for that, but it's sad to see that EB/JB/BigW are often cheaper these days.

As for their own shipping costs - they don't have to pay HMRC the 20% VAT on orders outside the UK. If you check their older store, 365game.co.uk, you'll see that most prices translate directly across. This means they're using the 20% to cover their postage (and make a nice little extra profit sometimes - or cover the postage for larger items other times..)

    • it took an arrow to the knee :((

not surprised it wasnt sustainable, I was buying big-box board games for half the local RRP and they were shipping them half way around the world for free.

ah well, was good while it lasted. Amazon became the next best thing, but the Aussie dollar has kind of wrecked that as well now.

    • It was sold to a new owner.

I received the email too, but didn't think anyone bought from them any more anyway :P I'm still amused that often, their UK sister site is cheaper AND has free shipping, despite paying in Pounds. I once asked them, and they basically replied with something about Australian competition prices, can't be too cheap etc; AKA Australia tax. Pity. Used to be good.

  • Xbox Live for $53.99 for 12+1 month is pretty good I think

    http://www.ozgameshop.com/xbox-360-points-and-subscriptions/…

    • Got the same code during eBay 20% sales for $30 something.

      • +1

I can't exactly do that now though…and my XLive is running out now…

        • @Toaster do you still need XLive? I have code from when I bought my xboxone console from microsoft store and I haven't sold it yet.

        • @astroberryz: thanks for the offer, but i ended up having to get this one as my Live was running out that night

        • @Toaster:
do you know if it expires? I should get rid of it soon if it does.

        • @astroberryz: Pretty sure the codes don't expire, so shouldn't be a rush to sell it :)

  • yeah I have $5 worth of credit with still not used because just nothing worth buying from them lately..

    • I had $10 credit with ozgs and saw nothing i wamted at a fair price soi bought a cd key for shadow of mordor for $16. Sold on ebay within 24 hours for $36. I reckon you could do exactly the same thing

Can't use BLUES and Player Points voucher together? No sale.

    • +1

Yeah only being able to use one code per transaction is BS.

  • Tempted on gta v on ps4 for 62 dollars. Seems to be the cheapest i can see. It says its free shipping too.

    • +5

Wow, sounds expensive…i got my copy for $48 on day of release

  • Anything over $50 is free shipping. People seem to forget that.

    • +2

The games i want always seem to be $49.99. I'm sure they do it on purpose :(

    • +2

Shipping is only $2. I think the bigger problem is that they're less competitive than they were ~3 years ago. The shipping is the icing on the cake of their decline.

Yes ozgameshop has gone down but I saw a few cheap games once the discount has been added:

    Bayonetta 1 & 2 = $54
    Luigis Mansion 3ds = $35.90
    Donkey Kong Country 3ds = $33.29

  • Does the 4% cashback via qwibble stack with this discount code?

  • Cheers, picked up a dualshock 4 for $69.29.

  • Code expiry date has been extended by 24 hours.

  • I stopped buying from OzGameshop when I preordered Borderlands 2 PC collector's edition and paid in full then weeks after I informed my friend they were the only one with stock left. He bought two of them (one for himself and gf) then he got his in the mail a whole month before I got mine. He had long finished the game (couldn't wait for me) and so when it finally arrived for me I had no-one to play with. The game sucks on your own.
