  • Whats their usual price?

  • +3

And what does refurbished mean? Are the lamps brand new?

    • I was wondering this too. Might be worth calling up Benq.

      • I had the previous model. Individual bulbs (minus the housing) would cost about $120

  • -2

They are like $689 USD new on Amazon

    • Yeah, plus delivery, plus (probably) a voltage inverter.

      • No voltage change needed. I have one here that I bought in the USA (when the dollar was basically equal). Works great!

    • +2

What is your point? Amazon is over $840 AU, straight conversion not factoring delivery.

      • +7

He was probably attempting to reply to Iplau asking what's the usual price above.

        • Yeah, well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

  • Just saying as someone asked, postage is $30 voltage is 110 - 240V

    mistake :P

Best money I've ever spend..love the W1070, but as usual, mounting is a pain and needs to be carefully considered by using the BenQ calculator here: http://www.benq.com/microsite/projector/throwratiocalculator… as it is not that flexible in this regard.

    • How did you mount yours? Thoughts about the sound levels? Was considering getting one of these and an Xbox One… would be a great combo I think :P

    • Mounting is easy. Just get the right one from Selby and all it takes is an hour. I think there is less than 10 available so anyone wants one be quick.

      • Hi

I bought this one and thinking to get the Ceiling mounting from Selby. Could you please let me know which one did you bough or which is good for Ceiling?

I am thinking to get the Screen as well, probablly over 100". Could you please suggest me?

        Thanks

        • Just go with a nice, flat, white(ish) wall to start with (assuming you have a suitable wall size).
Screens are great and all, but they cost a bomb for a decent one and the improvement over a decent wall is marginal given the money..

        • This http://www.selby.com.au/brackets-and-wall-mounts/projector-m…

I didn't get a screen too expensive and I don't have time to DIY

        • @wtfnodeal: Thanks Mate

Dont worry about being negged, i dont think it means anything unless you are the sensitive type!

        • +5

Exactly, otherwise JV wouldn't keep coming back

  • Supposed to be an excellent projector. Full reviews and specs:

  • If you want this but it wont fit into your setup get the w1300 a little more expensive but more placement flexibility.

  • Do you need BENQ's 3D glasses for 3D on this unit?

  • One thing worth noting is these things put out a LOT of heat. I love mine, but I don't get it out much during summer for this reason.

  • Out of stock

  • Out of stock now.

  • showing " out of stock " to me

I bought one previously, spoke to the techs first most have not even 1hr use on bulb firmware is updated to 1.08 and is a Fantastic Projector!!! Love it…

    use these calibration settings

  • Got one just in time by the looks. Now to work out the best connection arrangement to swap out my 63" Sammy plasma. All my AV gear's at the front!

    • Should only need to run HDMI and power to the projector.

  • I have a 1080 St (The short throw version of the 1070) and I love it.

Speakers on it suck but that is to be expected. 700 bucks is a steal though :D

I am so glad these are out of stock. What do we say to ozbargain costing us $700? Not today!

  • I've had mine for over a year, if you have the right space and lighting control for one of these, there is absolutely no reason to get a TV. This thing is 120"+ of pure awesomeness. The picture quality barely even had to be calibrated, just ever so slightly. However if you don't have a calibration tool the default straight from the factory is pretty much perfect. Stick it in Eco mode and you're off!

Games, 3D, and full HD blu-ray, the whole lot. Your own personal cinema!

Highly recommend investing in a proper sound system too, don't buy a "Home theatre package" from the store, get a real receiver and slowly add speakers.

These will probably start to see more regular deals seeing as the 4K models are bound to come in.

    • +1 to Eco mode…
Extra Lamp life at the cost of barely noticeable decrease in light output.

  • Back in stock again…

    • Just wondering if you received your order already, and how it's going if you have received it.

      Thanks :-).
