Saw a different brand 5 Piece stone coated Pan set in Harris Scarfe for $150 after %50 off(Rrp $299). My friend had bought this Ovela Set from Kogan so i got a chance to have a look at it. I must say the quality of this Pan set is awesome. Doesn't feel like a cheap set. Build quality and weight is very impressive. Also its stone coated which is better than normal non stick pans.

The Ovela Stone Coated Non-stick Cookware boasts a unique tough and durable non-stick surface. With superior heat distribution and high thermal conductivity, cooking is efficient and easy.
1 × 28cm Fry Pan
1 × 28cm Deep Pan
1 × 28cm Casserole Pot

Are you sure this is the same brand as what Harris Scarfe is selling? i cant seem to find anyone else selling the Ovela brand other than Kogan

I highly doubt it would be the same brand as Harris Scarce…. this is Kogan we are talking about… cheap crap.

    • no it was not the same brand but it was also stone coated 5 piece set. Definitely Kogan Ovela quality is descent as compare to harris scarfe one. Ovela is more in weight and has better finish quality as compare to the one selling at Harris Scarfe

Should probably change the wording on the description then. The way it is worded at the moment makes it sound like this is the same brand. Makes it a bit misleading, as people will think this exact set costs $299 normally.

read the reviews of these "stone" coated cookware. Review after review of people saying its a scam - it sticks, pans scratch and discolour easily. Even NZ TV exposed Stonedine in a video.
Before anyone asks, some of the reviewers are treating them with kid gloves - and the stone pans are still failing.
Best advice I read was "get a combination of cast iron, stainless and possibly anodised aluminium cookware. These surfaces will brown meat so you get flavour, and they are low maintenance and will last".
My advice to friends is "if you want the gimmick, go ahead. If you want historically proven and consistently reliable, avoid this sort of product".
Don't take my word for it. Here are over 200 reviews mostly condemning this class of product. Feel free to assume they're all idiots,

Then, Google "stone cookware" and read up. If you still want to buy "stone cookware", I have a bridge for sale in the heart of Sydney - quick sale, great views.

agreed! I haven't seen or heard of any chef using stone cookware.

    • Where can we get those cast iron and aluminum ones?

  • Is there any decent long lasting non-stick cookware out there?

  • If you can wait till 15th January (this Thursday) - Reject Shop will be selling these stone coated 5 piece for $40. Don't know about quality, but I guess you can at least see it prior to purchase
