    Some image suggestion

    Why not a famous mugshot?

    • +2

      great pun!

    • +1

Or, if you hate someone, print this on the mug and send him/her as a gift.

    • +1

      Love the Johnny Depp shot.

    • great idea!

    • (profanity) brilliant.

  • +2

Got some from the last $5 promotion - really good value at that price

    • +7

Me also, it is my grandmas 90th soon, I will get her a set of six with nostalgic pictures from her past.

  • What is the postage fee?

    • If you click the link it tells you - $4.95

  • +7

Check usage rights? Ain't nobody got time fo' that. Can I check your usage rights ;)

    • +2

yeah I recently ordered a print from Big W with a copywritten image, they don't care. If you read the T&C they basically say they won't do anything unless the person who owns the image complains, or if you're found mass re-selling them.

  • Thanks OP.
Great deal and very thoughtful to post some lovely pictures.

  • +4

OP, you might want to change the URL to this one
    http://www.bigwphotos.com.au/photo-gifts/standard-mug/

    • Thanks will do so now.

Also the link for the whole image which looks better buy IMO.

    Thanks OP

    • Will add that to post, cheers.

  • +2

Thanks OP. Just ordered one with Lord Gaben's face on it.

  • were any of your pictures blurry and fuzzy from the last batch? We made some, pics from DSLR, and some came out pretty bad. We've done it through snapfish, vistaprint in the past and those were far superior. We lost all the fine detail and facial features with the big w mug prints.

I've contacted them and now they want me to send them back for review, only I can't because I've given them away. :/

    • +1

You didn't upload them via facebook did you? Facebook compresses every image they store and as its a general compression some images are more heavily affected than others making them look rubbish.

    • +1

I had some mugs made that had about 20 photos each. All of them were razor sharp on all 3 mugs. Sounds like something went wrong on yours?

Did you upload the pics on desktop or mobile? All of mine were done via my browser on a desktop pc.

    • I have never had an issue with the quality of Big W prints. Snap fish have done me over a few times, I had to send through photos of finished product and the redid the job for me again.
I used to work in prepress in printing. Sometimes preview images are used in print (by accident) instead of high resolution.

    • +1

They were not in an image format that has an embedded thumbnail in it eg tiff? I once had a printer print out a some blurry A5s as they somehow extracted and printed the thumbnail preview.

    • I've customized 3 mugs so far with DSLR quality photos and they turn out sharp and nice. Maybe you inadvertently reduced the image size?

  • what's the difference between Standard Mug - Whole Image and Standard Mug - Full Wrap

    • i guess one has an image that wraps around the whole mug

    • Pictures on the site show the difference.
      Standard is a small image.
      Whole image is larger.
      Full wrap covers whole exterior.

Thanks OP. got 'you just got litt up'

    • Watching Suits now - solid choice

is anyone else having problems uploading pics to their online system? mine says uploaded 100% then just sits there for ages and doesnt acknowledge the upload is complete.

    • +1

Long time lurker joining to say - yep I'm having the same problem

    • May I suggest trying a different browser.

      • seriously, than firefox ??

anyway i tried IE and it has the same problem. I dont have chrome on my pc - ive never had to use an alternate to firefox before lol.. i thought that was kinda a known browser by now.. O_O

        • I'm using Chrome…downloaded Firefox again and I'll give it a shot on that

        • @Cooties: let me know how u go cos ive tried firefox and ie and i dont really feel i should have to download a new browser for this lol..

in IE it keeps "retrying" the upload and still doesnt work, i didnt even get that far in firefox but neither work

        • @Iggemo: Yep same thing - in Firefox this time I left it running for a while, came back and it was up to the second retry for uploading. Might try a different computer and see how that goes

        • I am a firefox user too. thought that may have been the issue. (and you may have been using safari)(it usually is fine for me) a little buggy with silverlight and showing some other plug ins.

      • Site uses Flash, maybe try upgrading your flash. That's the only thing stopping me ordering, HTML5 less buggy.

        • good idea, but didnt work :/

        • @Iggemo: Yep tried that too, I've tried Chrome and Firefox on PC and Mac… nothing. May have to resort to actually going in store if I find the motivation over the weekend

  • +7

I had these mugs made last time.

  • +5

Anyone game to print out a dick pic?

  • +5

Hmm, might get one made with:

    My Name
    Coffee - Yes
    Sugar - One
    Milk - Yes

    • I am stealing that right now!

      Thanks :)

    • +1

I would add under milk 'Do not disturb until finished'. :-)

  • +1

Who would pay the regular $18 for one really?

  • +1

Bought half a dozen of these under the last deal for Christmas presents. At that price, excellent value.

    • Not sure about the quality though

      • +1

        Excellent $5 quality.

  • Is it microwave and dishwasher safe?

    • +1

It says on the product description it is

Care Instructions: Dishwasher & Microwave safe.
Product Dimensions: Base Width 8.2cm. Mug Height 9.6cm

      • They say its safe in Dishwasher.

But you can bet the printing will fade if you wash enough times.

        • correct. I can confirm this.

  • cool thanks..i didn't expand it…

  • Many thanks OP!

  • Can I use a cartoon/photo from the web with the copyright of the original owner (e.g. The Simpsons)?

    • No, unless you're wanting a copyright jihad.
If you take a photo of copyrighted work, then maybe.

    • +1

Probably not supposed to, but who cares? Print what you want :)

  • +2

Got 6 made with pictures of myself for secret santa gifts at the end of the year. Comedy gold.

    • +1

      That isn't very secretive.

  • Thank you.

  • +2

Got 6 of me mate doing a mangina, he's gonna hate it.

    • +3

      doing a mangina? o.0

    • +3

Should have slowly zoomed in on the pubic region over the six mugs until the last one was pure unadulterated mangina.

      • Comedy gold. :)

    • +1

Maybe he'd prefer being immortalized on stubby holders?
      http://www.bigwphotos.com.au/photo-gifts/stubby-coolers/

      • +1

Dear god, ordered stubby holders with mangina also, thank you!!!

  • anyone know if these come in a box when you pick them up?

    • +2

      Boxed.

  • thanks OP! I got 7 mugs done

  • The website says that the 'Whole Image' mug is "Available with whole image wrapped around mug with white handle". Does this mean that it's the same as the 'Full Wrap' one, except vertically bigger?

  • Thanks op i got 3 mugs

  • thanks OP!

ordered 10 mugs with photos of my friends photoshopped in various landscapes.

  • Thanks, ordered 6 mugs mainly for gifts.

  • Got 2. Made some funny birthady presents. I wonder how long it will take to arrive in Geelong?

    • Usually 10 business days from my experiences.
