      got mine from here:
      http://www.got2haveit.com.au/prod798.htm
      259.

and be warned they are not the best product out there by a long shot.

      • The flow meter clicks very loudly.
took a few emails to get Thermaltake to send me a new one but i don't think that will fix the problem. its gotten to the point where i cant sit next to the case and have to turn it off at night, theres a normal swishing sound that comes from it, and a loud irritating click. will probably remove the flow meter.

      • so far the pump has freezed twice for some reason. after switching the power off then on again the pump seems to free up. lucky i was home or I could have had issues. don't know how the core i7 goes with no good cooling.

      • the case seems to vibrate at times for some reason, the fans are fairly noisy even at a slow speed. be prepared to for a fairly noisy case.

      • its a huge case. (may or may not be a good thing)

      • the radiators are pretty small… seems to keep my system cool (motherboard and CPU) cool (maxs at about 60* at 100% CPU @ 3.5)

it looks good, but given the choice i'm not sure id do it again… now that i have it, its a base to work with…. and its nice and big, which i like… but its not the quality i thought it would be…

id probably buy quality parts that i know wont fail and build a LCS myself if i where to do it again.

but it is a good price for this case too…cheap entry level water cooling.
if you want to use it for the core i7s you need to buy an extra $20 bracket.

      • as an update i changed my flow meter last night and i no longer feel the need to go postal… man it was driving me nuts… hopefully this one doesn't go the same way.
still cant believe they just didn't send me a new one right away…ended up taking a couple of months before the thing drove me nuts to write a more harsh email.

      • Yeah those thoughts seemed to be echoed by others as well. Other concerns were you'd need to add more radiators before adding a GPU cooler as the radiator can't dissipate the additional heat brought in by a watercooled GPU (unlike the Gigabyte Mercury case).

  • For anyone interested PC Case Gear and PC DIY also have this for $259.

    Seems like a good price.

  • Can anyone find it for around the same price in Sydney so I can pickup?

Good competitive pricing but being on par with other stores doesn't make it a bargain imo.

    Hi Guys

This is a special deal offered by the vendor to a handful of special resellers. :)

Oprahfan is right. On par is just not good enough! The price is now dropped to $245! :)

    • Is the bigwater 780e packaged separately , or is it already preinstalled ?

      • +1

Its preinstalled mate. Very easy to put together as well. Just install the CPU block. Connect the tubes. Add water and you are off. :)

    • Thanks for admitting that it's not an exclusive but I think you'll win some customers as it seems like a fair deal :)

Personally, I'd stick with the Gigabyte Mercury 3D for a integrated WCS but at this price, it's great for people who want to spend as little as possible to get into WC.

  • I think this is a good deal, looks like some promotional pricing to retailers or rebates being offered by the manufacturer. Even if you don't specifically but it from Inside Tech, the deal will probably only last for a short period of time, so all in all, it is a bargain. Price drop to $245 is good too.

I wont buy one, but if I were looking at a new rig this would definitely have some consideration.

    • i bought mine months ago at this price, so has been around for a while to at least some retails. I thought mine was one of the last at this price but i guess not.

  • I'm interested in a nice quite case that takes plenty of HDD that are easy to swap out… So I've a couple of Q's:
    1) How does the HDD Trays work (eg are the a backplane style setup)?
    2) Are the Drive Bays liquid or air cooled?
    3) Can you turn off the "bling" like the glowing fans etc?
    4) Are the size specs correct as this is Huge - 605h x 250w x 660d mm (compared to my Soprano that according to my tape measure is "only" 480h x 220w x 500d mm)

    Thanks
    Nathan

    • Check out the specs here - http://www.xtremecomputing.co.uk/review.php?id=409&page=3

3 of the 7 5.25inch drive bays are liquid cooled

The case is large is you pointed out (60 x 25 x 66 cm)

I think you'll need to change fans if you dont want the led features

      • +1

no 3 spaces of the drive bays ARE taken UP by liquid cooling but they are not liquid cooled bays…its used/wasted space.

      Hi Mate

      Regarding your questions:

      1. The HDD tray is made of plastic. The whole tray comes off individually. It is toolless. So clip on and clip off. The cables go to the back of the case.
      2. The drive bays are air cooled. There are extra add ons to liquid cool the drive. Personally though i dont think it worth while. :)
      3. Cant turn the bling off the glowing fan. The easy way is to replace it. Alternatively if you are into modding, you could cut off power to the LED on the fan.
      4. This is a full tower case. So the specs are correct. It is a big case. Great if you are putting in high end VGA and lots of HDDs and so on. Soprano is a mid tower case. Hence a fair bit smaller.

      Hope that help. :)

  • wouldn't touch this particular wcing brand with a 30inch pole. ThermalTake have a long history with cracking waterblocks and shit temperature reduction (might aswell use air cooling), stay well clear if you value your computer parts.

ps: the case looks like shit aswell, the wcing parts are shit. $245 a bargain? hell no son.

    • Would be interested to hear other people's views.

I regard Thermaltake (case, fans & PSU) quite highly. I have never had experience with their (or any other manufacturers) water cooling though.

      • Only the toughpower PSUs were any good. Thermaltake lie about the noise ratings on their fans, and their cases fall short of brands like Coolermaster and Antec in quality. Thermaltake watercooling is laughable, you're better off getting high end air cooling.

        • just added my 2c to the top of this post… yeah not the quality i expected from thermaltake.

  • I have my CPU at 4.3GHZ (AMD XP3000+), will this cool it? Currently I have the case open with a fan blowing on my heatsink. It reaches 95 degrees using Windows media player and Windows messenger.

    • +1

Holy begeezus! You still use an AMD XP Processor, let alone want a new case for it.
You're better off using the money towards a replacement PC that's cooler and faster.

      • Hell yeah, couldn't agree more….$245 will buy you a low end C2D or AMDx2 and entry level mobo that will easily blow the overclocked XP outta the water; and run cooler to boot! ;)

  • Hi Mate

To my knowledge, the liquid cooling in this case does not support Socket A CPU. Only AM2, AM3 and K8 from AMD range and Intel 775, 1366 and 1156 CPU.
