  • Great table!

I have a love hate relationship with this game. It's a great game, if you're a masochist.

  • I find the update has made this unwinnable for me on Normal. I used to be able to finish 1 in 10. I haven't won it on update…yet (50+ tries)! It just seems that the random meanness it way too high now. Still stupidly addictive.

    • I actually noticed this as well but I've gone back to the same mentality that I had when I first started playing the game - Just playing and enjoying it with little to no hope of actually doing very well at all.

Fantastic game to play with an audiobook or podcast.

      • Yep, and keep discovering new things. I boarded an enemy the other day with my teleport hacked. It kept pulling me back to my ship lol.

  • FWIW, it might be the historical low for the Steam store, but it's been $2.49 (with a Steam key) before: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/109018

It's currently $2.49 direct from the FTL site again. This includes both the DRM free version, the browser version and a Steam key. Much better than the deal directly from Steam.

Developers get more $ this way yeah?

        • Probably not. I believe they still have to pay Steam given you're getting a Steam key, and although it might be less, that's getting offset by the Humble store getting a cut.

      • Thanks, added to OP

I bought it about a year ago in a bundle from Humble, got it again on GoG by accident (plus GoG had extra's). It's regularly discounted for this price and will likely show up in bundles again. Worth the money if a person doesn't have it and is low on games to try, though I found the last patch made the "randomness" of encounters a little too rigged for negative results.

  • FTL is an excellent game. Challenging and fun.

  • Glad I pulled the trigger on this.

    Enjoying it immensley

My favourite tactic is to utilise breaching and system damaging weapons to deplete O2 reserves.
