Thanks TA, will try and request some, Happy New Year mate !

Thanks TA - This isn't an ebook but fantastic nonetheless ;-)

Apparently these blades are designed for cutting foil and film. They have a number of styles including the "Gillette" which would probably fit in a double edge safety razor…

but I'm really not sure how good it would feel since the blades are not designed for shaving. Considering you can get good DE blades like Astra for 10-15c each in bulk, I'll pass.

    • I read the site and watched the video, I wonder what it would do to your face. I was confused by the different thicknesses then it made sense when I saw the foil/film line.

    • +4

Exactly. Consumer grade blades are usually coated in substances like Teflon to provide a smoother shave. No doubt these blades prioritise longevity over sharpness/comfort.

      • The Feather blades I use are coated in platinum for longevity. I don't think there's much place for Teflon when you get to a certain level of sharpness.

        • Mine are diamond encrusted

    Good luck.

Well indeed. Given this is ostensibly a trade sample (not consumer product) from a company based in Belgium, I suspect they might get a little suspicious if they suddenly get a couple of hundred requests from Australia. But yes, good luck to all those who try!

    hmmm is this for shaving???

    • +2

I dont think it is meant for shaving as such but doesnt stop one from using it to, I guess.

      • +2

depends on what u shave ;)

    • +2

No, they are industrial blades designed for cutting foil and film.

Good post though, here I was thinking TA just caters to the masses and BAM outta nowhere he posts for the niche OzBargainer group of foil/film cutters, Kudos.

  • +2

I think you should specify in big bold letters and in the title that these blades are NOT for shaving!

    Or just try this

I been using my jeans to keep my razor sharp for around 6 months. Works great!

  • +10

    Thanks TA.

Not going to claim these as I have no use for them, and I'm probably going to accidentally hurt myself during some harebrained idea I come up with - like making ninja stars.

    • +1

      great idea OneJay,

      time to make ninjastars xD

    • OOOhhhh.. [non-thinks…]

  • Since these are likely to come from overseas and I think they are sharp.

    Would these pass customs?

    • +18

They won't be sent out in the first place so customs won't be an issue.

    • +1

Surely someone with the name of Swordsman would know the answer to this question!

Yes they would pass customs, there are no laws preventing the importation of razor blades into the country.

    • Duplicate….

  • Requested and thanks OP.

  • +3

should say not for beards or wrists

    • +1

No blades are appropriate for wrists.

  • Ordered. Thanks TA.

  • Nothibg gets added to my sample cart when i click the freen sample button ??

  • +1

A real ozbargainer would still shave himself with 15 of these.

  • +3

Do you have a free Udemy Course on how to use these ?

  • Sounds like it's the blades that didn't make the cut, cheaper to give away then depose of them.

    • pun? carbide blades will slice through thin gauge metal

  • +2

This is try test to see how ridiculous we havr become. If you have never bought blades and don't think you will ever need need. Phase fight the urge to get this freebie. Is a waste. Also probably not good to just have blades lying around. Nothing good will come out of it.

    • An Ozbargained exacto knife would be better, but surely Ozbargainers, if anyone, will be the ones with a vice, tape and razor blade when the lap-top battery needs a repack….

  • Probably shaves better than some of the cheaper cartridges around :p

  • Ordered these for work (panel shop).

  • These types of razor are great for getting off rego stickers from the windscreen… but in NSW we don't need to do that any more!

    • +1

Same in WA. Gosh, I hated the yearly "hold soaked newspaper against rego sticker for 20 minutes so that it comes of cleanly but not really" ritual.
Bunnings sells scrapers which are simply a plastic holder with a razor blade, for scraping stickers from windows. They are dirt cheap.

    Not for shaving.

    Challenge accepted

    • +1

They're not for shaving, unless your face is industrial quality film.

  • If it's coming from the US, I have doubts it will ever arrive.

  • Has anyone got theres yet?
